Munge Failure [Solved]

Post by Epifire »

I just picked up the tools again when I upgraded my PC after I heard about the new XSI tools.

So I ran into a Munge error and I wanted to get an opinion on what this is caused by...

Code: Select all

D:\Games\Lucasarts\BFBuilder\BFBuilder\DataTest1>cd _build_pc

D:\Games\Lucasarts\BFBuilder\BFBuilder\DataTest1\_BUILD_PC>echo "ENGLISH"
"ENGLISH"

D:\Games\Lucasarts\BFBuilder\BFBuilder\DataTest1\_BUILD_PC>del Mungelog.txt
Could Not Find D:\Games\Lucasarts\BFBuilder\BFBuilder\DataTest1\_BUILD_PC\Mungel
og.txt
\NVIDIA was unexpected at this time.
D:\Games\Lucasarts\BFBuilder\BFBuilder\DataTest1\_BUILD_PC> @set PATH="D:\Games\
Lucasarts\BFBuilder\BFBuilder\DataTest1\_BUILD_PC"\..\..\ToolsFL\Bin;"D:\Games\L

iles (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common;C:\Windows\system32;C:\Windows;C:\Win
dows\System32\Wbem;C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files

alf-life 2\hl2\..\bin
D:\Games\Lucasarts\BFBuilder\BFBuilder\DataTest1\_BUILD_PC>
I don't recall having this issue ever before so just wondering why?

EDIT: Was able to copy the mungelog.txt over to where the munge command was looking for it and was able to get that error off. I am still wondering what all these other paths are listed for. I saw Steam in there and I know that doesn't have anything to do with this.

If I can learn why this is happening (and fix it) I can use my tools again.

The issue is with the tools being in the Games folder.
It must look like this:
C:\LucasArts\BFBuilder

for a default installation to work properly.

I know this can't be all in part to not using the default directory because I never used the default in the passed and it worked just fine.

In the duration of posting this topic I found out that munging doesn't work on 64 bit systems unless you take certain measures to work around the problems. I also completely re-downloaded the Tools and for some reason that fixed my faulty/odd directories.

Thanks for the responses either way. I guess now I just have to operate a little differently.
