Status page for Extraction Tool - UPDATED 11/11/04
Hi all,
I've put up a quick page on the extractor status, you can always get the latest version from here:
11/11/04
0.0.7 is out
http://www.zaptillion.net/swbf/extract.zip
First attempt at texture extraction. Some work great, others fail horribly
0xF266 is an important vertex type that doesn't seem to work quite right yet....
To view the models, you either need meshviewer from the direct x sdk, or something like quick3d viewer http://www.quick3d.com/ (you have to register here to get it) or here http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/11/ ... -116.shtml (no registration needed...)
After running, the models will be in a directory name [name of the lvl file]\modls

RE: Status page for Extraction Tool
what's that extractor anyways :s
RE: Status page for Extraction Tool
OK, im hoping to have an update later tonight that will:
(1) Create a directory with the same main name as the .lvl file your extracting (so if you extract all.lvl, it'll make a dir called all). For each major subsection, it'll create a subdir of the level dir, say like tex, and put all of those chunks in there.
(2) I'm debating on whether or not to add switches to do just a single chunk type so like extract -t might only do textures, additionally you could provide a name that could be matched
(3) i've got a test repack tool started, you give it a file, and it finds the correct spot in the .lvl, and inserts the data
that wont be out till later in the weekend though. Ultimately, this will take the directory created by extract and completly repack it.

Sorry, its not very user friendlyvindictive wrote:I'm a little lost on your extractor. I drop the .lvl file on the .exe, I get a list in DOS and then nothing.
you go to a cmd prompt (start, run, type cmd and hit enter). Run it from there.
drag and drop probably worked though, make sure you check the directory you took the file out of for the extracted files maybe?
I'll have to try it and see.
