I just watched it. That is very chilling. I know the anniversary was a while ago, but it's just chilling how it cut out like that.

I can't believe I forgot to post this;

R.I.P. Kaylene Palanuick, a good friend of mine.

http://www.kxly.com/spokanenews/21877412/detail.html

Stupid media claims she was distracted by her cell phone, while she was talking to her boyfriend, she had a bluetooth in, and had both hands available. While it is still a distraction to some point, not nearly as much. The accident was merely caused by inexperience driving.

That "stupid media" said, verbatim, that the crashes were caused by inexperience. You're contradicting yourself by saying "it's not distraction, ok it is a little, ok no it's 'merely' inexperience."

My condolences for the loss of your friend, but don't you dare not learn from that lesson and think it's always going to be ok to drive with a cell phone in if you're using a headset. The distraction doesn't come from pushing buttons alone, the distraction comes from not concentrating on one thing at a time. Any time you add to your "concentration list," whether it be by talking to someone (present or not), pushing buttons, eating food, fiddling with your dash - you're making yourself less safe to drive with, especially in poor weather conditions (especially if you are speeding, as the article indicates).

Not to argue, but you may have misread what I stated, or I may have stated it in a confusing way;

What I meant was that I understand that, despite the fact that she was using a bluetooth, talking on a cell phone is still distracting you from your main objective, driving. What I meant was that she did have full control of the vehicle, and was aware of her surroundings, having both hands available. I was just trying to state that the media sort of "misrepresented" her, by stating that she was talking on her cell phone, giving the impression that she was completely distracted from the scene. That was not the case, and I know that the bluetooth was specifically for that purpose, and that it was used in the vehicle only for emergency calls, which her boyfriend claimed it to be.

This probably still is confusing, I'm having a hard time conveying what I'm trying to say, hopefully you get the gist of it.
