You asked for feedback - you got it. If you're making something, feel free to do whatever you want, as that is your prerogative. That doesn't mean someone can't disagree with you, though.
(Of course I tend to like the idea of space stations, but everyone's got his own opinion.)
Oh lol, that was an inside joke between me and fluff.
So far, the ideas I like best are:
Capturable ships
Space Station
Landing transports
Larger interiors
More Cap. Ships
larger interior
More variety and interesting torpedos, limited ammo, flying into hanger refills. More than 2 unit classes ( pilot, sabateur, assault marine, heavy defense[ no enter vehicles, suggest droideka for cis])
I feel I should add something, considering the boarding suggestion. I've been doing various experiments, and so far I've not been able to get an AI controlled vehicle to land. I can get the ship in the hangar via a spline, but LandOnArrival doesn't appear to be working. Landing hints also don't appear to work. They're supposed to work with the classlabel "carrier" (or so I gather from the docs), and that particular classlabel appears to be broken or incomplete, or else my setup is all wrong. Unless someone else has found a way to get either of those working, using ZE animation may be the only way to accomplish this. I can't say for sure that this is set in stone, but these are my current findings on the matter. It's likely that Pandemic never finished this aspect of the game.
Here's an idea: give the turbolasers and whatnot their factional (or craft specific) colors for the weapons that don't have this setup, like the recoilless weapons with that odd yellow ordinance.
Basically a minor scale of what I can see on Empire at War, stations, capital ships vs capital ships even if they can't move, at least using turbolasers for bigger ships instead of a dozen laser turrets for starfighters, pilotable corvettes, etc.
There is only one problem, in land maps I have hard time sitting on the secondary possition of vehicles (multiplayer), why? because as soon as I enter the other player stops, sometimes he/she even tells me to bail out, I can't imagine a selfish pilot on a corvette (if it is a little accurate it would need at least two or more people to control its turrets).
Btw YaNkFaN, firing in hangars is possible. All that's necessary is to change the proportions of the landing region so that a ship can be outside the region while also being within the hangar. It's a hack way to do it, but it'd work, more or less.
I agree most CIS engagements were made with frigates such as the Recusant

I think having these with hangars instead of the invisible hand would be better for space maps also another thing is more ship to ship combat if you watch the opening battle of episode 3 there is a lot of ship to ship combat much like ancient sea faring ships that turned broadside in order to fire heavy cannons at each other I think this would add much more to the battle
Good point, on actually mixing up the ship classes. I was thinking this had more to do with the Invisible Hand itself being everywhere. This goes for just about any faction, though, depending on how you feel about the EU.
I wanna fly to the planet where i'm fighting.
I mean that the Space ship is in the air of the planet not in the space and i can jump, or fly down on the planet.
