What is that?

Post by thelegend »

Hey,
I just found an unusual looking .msh in the Bf2_ModTools files. I am really surprised what it is and what is was supposed to be. Or..just why is there a .msh file having more than 10K triangles!?
I found it in ...Bf2_ModTools/ data_XXX/ Editor/ config/ editor: cameraObj.msh. There is even a .col (Maybe collision?) file and an .odf file:
Hidden/Spoiler:
[GameObjectClass]
classLabel = "building"
geometryName = "cameraObj.msh"
geometryScale = 0.033
collisionName = "cameraObj.msh"
unitName = "cameraObj"
What unitName or collisionName mean? I have never seen these codes before.

I took a Screenshot showing this immense building:
Hidden/Spoiler:

It has no textures applied nor any materials. It just has different SpecularDecays.

I just wonder who made this or why it was there? Was it supposed to be an in-game object (Due to it's .odf file) or...I mean just compare this with the Bf2 Assets (Polygon Count wise).
By the way I hope this is the right place to post this.

The Clone Wars game used .col files (collision). For Battlefront the munge process creates them. This is nothing more than a reference camera you can place for when the engine supported in-game cutscenes.
