Cannot open mod tools exe

Post by CT3899 »

I finished munging my first world, which took an unusually short amount of time as i watched a tutorial on creating mods and the video had to be cut due to the length of time required to finish the munge. I then went to open the mod tools exe to test my map and I got an error code saying "The code execution cannot proceed because binkw32.dll was not found". Does anyone know a fix to this? I am eager to start modding for battlefront 2 and this was a little discouraging.

the .dll file is in your swbf2 game directory. if you need the "no dvd" version it's here:

not sure about the normal version, but i imagine it works the same as the "no-dvd" version. i couldn't figure it out for a while, but i had to copy the mod tools.exe to the swbf2 game directory.

Search for "bink" returns:

Less Jar Jar results than I had thought :D

The mod tools exe must be manually moved into the same directory as the game exe. I should point out, politely, that if you had used this site's search feature, you could have had this answer in seconds, rather than now after EasyOvenOperator and I have replied. That said, everyone here is always happy to help!

This is dependent on your PC specs and I've found that first munges are usually pretty short. The only way to find out if everything ok is to run the debugger, which you should now be able to do. Good luck!
