DECEMBER 2017 - INFO UPDATE
NEW PICS AND INFO ON PAGE 2

(VERY VERY EARLY ALPHA)

Yeah - you already know what I'm doing and why.
Been working on this map and I think once its done it will make a lot of people happy.
Playing as the droids and securing the beach is already so chaotic and so much fun !!

This week Ill be working on getting the environment close to PERFECT !
I'll be pulling all the tricks out of the hat for this one ... Ill probably use EVERY texture slot in zeroeditor - do some bumps on the textures
play with fog and blur setings, Make the sun huge like in EA's kashyyyk, Replace the birds with very small almost unseeable bugs so that I can use scaterbirds to make small bugs come from the bushes, add in precipitation and retexture it to simulate DICES flares , include those unplayable wookies on the left and right shores, a random night to day feature, add a little more odf's , resize platforms ect. Obviously ALL this wont be done in one week ... but all those environmental related things I listed above I will add :thumbs:

"Will you be recreating the whole game ?"

No - I may recreate more maps though ... see the hardest part about doing this kind of stuff is that I need custom made props - I would love to do starkiller base, hoth, or something like the battle of ryloth space but I would need custom props , I'm terrible at making them lol. If you are interested in helping me out by making some very accurate props and msh's then please let me know !

Guys Naboo: Assult on Theed takes priority - the hardest part about this map wont be the units thankfully since I can just take them from my theed map - the hardest part will be getting the detail in the environment. The kashyyyk from BF2017 is very "alive". The ground is covered in debris and tank treads and water - recreating this will be difficult. Their kashyyyk map is more beauty and nature based than it is prop based like assult on theed.

If I do decide to scrap this project I will make it available for anyone to complete - of course I dont plan on scrapping this bad boy its just I don't want it to become another generic kashyyyk map. Getting it close to EA's will be pretty hard.

Thoughts ???

The map seems to be very huge. Would love to see juggernauts and fast moving snails and mtt's battling each other. As always it is important to keep the map detailed and also to have a good amount of vehicles to make it from point A to B very quickly. I really recommend learning to make custom props. Of course it's complicated, especially for beginners (in 3D modelling, texturing and animation). But trust me: As soon as you get to understand the basics, the tools and how to get simple stuff done; you more and more will get into more complex stuff and it will not even feel to complex. My first 3D models for this game were literally "simple" and badly textured. But I got it done at least. I even managed to edit existing 3D models from Pandemic, like these weird collisions for Naboo's buildings; you know when you fly close over them you eventually crash into them because this map never used to be playable on roofs.
And now it's not too hard for me to create at least more complex buildings or items; even animations for characters and static stuff. Although I admit they don't look that realistic. It's just a manner of time, patience and experience.
You are already good at combining different props into new things, making maps very detailed using any source you can get. Imagine your possibilities when you would make it into 3D modelling. I had the same exact opinion about myself regarding this. I couldn't even use XSI or Blender to recreate a space2ground skydome for my maps. I asked for help. But one day I started practicing, just to learn the basics and now...I personally think I have improved a lot. And I am still learning.

Now your map: Since it's still in Alpha phase I can't say how much you still have planned to add. For now the overall ambient of Kashyyyk is not given due to the sky, the lighting etc. But you already got the layout done. Still you need to add tons of mountains. But the visibility range would limit you in that way. Maybe try decreasing the size of the lake and overall map to have more mountains seen from all angles of your map.

Is awesome,and very movie acurate,It is in early stage but is on its way to become in the best Kashyyk map. Do you will add Hero Assault mode? DEVISS did a new Yoda model and someone requested me a ROTJ Luke Skywalker,and I want to do a ESB Han Solo for my Alternative Hero costumes thread,also Iconverted a long time ago The TFU Darth Vader,would be nice a hero assault with the EA heroes, in nabbo map you can add command post just in the Theed hangar for the hero assault.

Hero Assult on theed - good idea !! Maybe I will add this in it would totally work :D

Yes this is important to have a lot of vehicles but at the same time I need to copy EA's battlefront. I want people be able to feel like they can mange the space with vehicles but at the same time I want it to remind them of EA's kashyyyk - this means no drivable katarans or snail tanks ... at least not yet.
The droids spawn points will always be around the MTT to cut down on the distance between the droids and their objectives ... and the objectives will be the same as EA's battlefront ! Escort the MTT's , take out the juggernauts, destroy the pipes in the republic cruiser. The droids will be team 1.

Yes I probably will have to eventually. :funny2: . I have done some prop editing in the past with battles of the storm so maybe I'll pick it up and get better at it like you. Thanks for the encouragement (:
AND YES I didn't forget about the naboo collisions ... most of the buildings will be replaced by Serejas anyways but I have not forgotten.

I still have TONS to add those pictures come from only few hours of work. The overal ambient of kashyyk ... I don't think this will be your typical lashyyyk map. The cloudy grey environment, the sandy textures and trenches , and as I said earlier, the snail tanks and katamarans or whatever they are called - they will all be different all more similar to BF2 2017. The sky and lighting in that map is bright not cloudy and grey.( I will work on the sky I know it's not supposed to have clouds).

The layout is no where NEAR done :funny2: I will have to keep playing bf2 ea and watching YouTube videos until I can get the layout of kashyyyk. Mountains will be added and clouds around those mountains as well, ground to space is already added ... not sure what I will put up there this time but it's a nice little touch. NeedoMods went ahead and deciliter the units green so ... shoutout to him. And yeah ... probably will have to decrease that map size.



This maps production will be very slow everyone ! As you know if you follow me on SM i have a lot to manage... lots of games to play ... and remember Naboo takes priority guys.

You should maintain accuracy with EABF2, but should improve it where necessary; you gave a good example with Snail Tanks and Catamarans. They definitely need to be playable, along with Sabre Tanks. Deviating doesn't hurt.

I must be dreaming first a SWBF 2 related map for Naboo. Now we got a SWBF 2 related map for Kashyyyk!

Oh and I see Storm Squadron 70`s Venator hehe, cool (although that might just be a place holder), but a SS70 easter egg would be pretty cool, maybe a helmet or some sort of reference from the Battles of the Storm map pack in it

uuuhhhhhahaha ummmmm ... probably in a month - I really cant say - i will keep you all updated on progress and once it looks good to release I will release this time on ModDB and Gametoast !

Right now - no . Once I learn more about editing props ... maybe ... don't know how accutare it will be but maybe. It will probably just be "take the two command post outside of the Jugernaut platforms."

I don't know if I said this or not but what will be unique about this map is that the droids will be Team 1 - they will be the attackers - the first team shown instead of the clones on this map !! I mean I know it should probably be that way for naboo as well but I won't be doing that for naboo - just for this map.

I agree. Having a command post being a juggernaut that you can walk inside of would be awesome. Maybe even add a position on the juggernaut to shoot from like the AT-TE in Landing at Point Rain. I know there was a juggernaut vehicle around at one time because you can drive one in the final version (1.4) of Jade Moon.

I’m interested in what vehicles will be included. Are swamp speeders and starfighters going to be included?

I’ve never played the EA Battlefront 2, but is the gameplay going to be like the new Battlefront in which one team loses if the other team advances too far, or will there be a mode like classic conquest where one team captures all the command post or eliminates the enemy team. I saw Kryo’s playthrough of your Naboo map and I was a little disappointed that the Republic automatically loses if the MTT advances to the end instead of fighting to the last man as I like to do. I’d rather the map feel like EA Battlefront 2 but the maps plays like the original Battlefront 2 rather than having the map look and play like EA Battlefront 2. If the map is the same and the gameplay is the same why not just play the new one if it’s the same? I guess what I’m trying to say is I love the map, but i’m not sure I’ll like to play it if there’s not an option for classic BF2 gameplay.

Looking forward to seeing how the map turns out.

I'm not sure if a walk-in juggernaut will be in the first verstion you all will play BUT hopefully - eventually it will be added.

I was originally going to have the juggernauts cannons be an auto turret that shoots missiles. (That would look like the ones from EA's battlefront) However ... now since you say it should be a controllable turret I don't see a problem with adding that one in. :thumbs:
There will be all the vehicles present in EA's battlefront 2 kashyyk in this map ! Including snailtanks and maybe the wooden catamarans. - sadly no swamp speeders - note that the spawns will move along with the Mtts in the beginning and follow the objectives so getting from point a to point b won't really be TO much of a concern. Still a concern but there will be plenty of vehicles.

What kyro played was an early alpha of naboo - the next release will include the palace interior and will look ALOT MORE ACCURATE TO EA'S
It will blow you guys away how accurate it will be ... hopefully. The kashyyyk game mode will match that of EA's map. In the next release of my theed map the republic will be pushed back into the palace if they can't stop the MTT with ion disruptor turrets.

I think you provide a good point and I'm sure there are a lot of people who feel as you do ... so ya know what ... I'll add conquest mode :) Keep note the number of units will drastically drop but hopefully this will allow for some of that classic gameplay you and I know some others desire. You will also be happy to know heros vs villains mode is being added to my theed map in the theed hanger. The gameplay of that mode will match that of heroes vs villains of the original BF2

Mountains and environment terrain layout should be done an beautiful by this time next week yall
After that I will be dividing this map into 4 imaginary sections and work on each section intensely and really detailing them up with , objects, grass, barriers for AI, and textures.
After that I will work on gameplay and slight unit tweaks and what not. Add in the hero's Yoda and probably Kylo Ren (since I had darthmaul on the last map) , and then after some
scripting and we should be good to go live on alpha 0.4 soooooo I'm estimating early to mid January

I want to do a cool hero guys ... maybe bossk would work better over kylo ... what hero's do you guys have in mind ???
