Well, after a few months of on-and-off modding, I've finally managed to get enough content together to warrant a new version of the Ultimate Battlefront: The Clone Wars mod.

Why am I making a new version?

1. There were several bugs present in the original version that I wanted to fix. Award weapons, sounds, and the like. Generally minor things, but they really bugged me after playing through the mod post-release.

2. I became dissatisfied with the general set-up of the units, especially the heroes. I'm working on building more creative weapons, characters, and force powers, as well as adding more units and heroes.

3. I have a lot of unfinished or cancelled maps that I stopped working on for various reasons, as well as a plethora of other map ideas I'd like to try out.

To sum it all up, this mod is an excuse for me to polish up as much of my previous work as possible. I won't say what other things I'm planning (or am already working on) because I haven't quite decided exactly how much new content I want to add. Keep in mind that at one point, all I had planned was a simple bug-fix version.

So does anyone remember Fahul: 607th Offensive? It was a stormy, beach-themed map that was meant to be the 8th map in the 607th Saga. It was cut due to... um, I can't exactly remember. There was some sort of error I couldn't solve. Or something. I actually munged the original map recently and it worked fine. Meh.

Well, the original version used the Geonosis Spire as the CIS base as well as a bunch of reskinned Hoth tunnels. BLECH! I remade it from scratch.

Consider this the replacement for the Geonosis map I included in the original UB:TCW. That is, unless anyone objects.

Gylesh: Seabed was another cancelled map of mine. The map was originally meant to be a campaign mission which involved killing a demonic Acklay, exploring an undersea facility, fighting Stormtroopers, and escaping. The world file was corrupted in a ZeroEditor crash, and while I still had the beginnings of the campaign scripted out, I didn't get very far in rebuilding the map before I lost interest.

Now, I decided to return to the general theme of the map, but I did away with the mish-mash of reskinned Rhen Var blocks and Polis Massa hallways. I'm not including the campaign mission in UB:TCW, so the map isn't as painfully linear as the original map. Of course, none of you played the original map, but whatever.

My my, looks VERY good! I like the idea of undersea maps (like the rebel-ops mission? I don't remember but I do know that there was at least one under water map out there :D)

In the first pic, perhaps you could re-skin the ATTE? Idk if the ATTE's color markings ever differed by legion or w/e, but I think it'd look nice if it had green markings to match that legion.

Other than that, from what I can see/tell, it sounds like it'll be good. lol with my maps that I haven't even released I'm always adding more and more stuff/changing stuff, and I like the idea of you revisiting/improving old stuff :D

Nice to see you back!

I guess there's isn't much to say about Fahul, the screenshots show troopers marching on a field and... troopers marching up a hill... sort of non-descript; I'm glad to see Gylesh again, though, I really like underwater maps and such. :)

While of course new (and more creative) sides are great, what I'm most impressed with is (as much as can be gleaned from those screens) the ambience of Gylesh. You've captured the ambience of murky, dark water really well (reminds me of scuba diving after heavy rain), personally I'd say better than any of the few other underwater maps have.

Nice to see this up and running again! :thumbs:


EDIT: Oh yeah, incidentally, I'm working on a bunch of CIS base props (crates, barrels, ammo crates, gun racks, lights etc) for Last Days atm, you're welcome to use them for any new maps you make.

Two words: Cloud Nine. Man, I remember that map like it was yesterday. It got replaced by Space Kamino, if my memory serves me well. Good times... Anyway, these two maps look great, and I can't wait to see more.

Wow! I like the look of those maps, especially the second one, which has a really unique feel to it. My only complaint is the extreme blur on everything. It just seems a little excessive to me....

Glad to see this mod is back in production. I like both of the new maps but tell me... are Space Coruscant and the other map where you battled inside a Venatar-class Destroyer gonna be included in this version? They were looking to be really great maps.

I really like the looks of the stormy beach one, it kinda reminds me of what a good Jabiim map should look like!

Knowing what Xavious has done in the past, this is going to be awesome. I have always pondered how to create a manta droid subfighter for underwater. Keep up the great work! :wink:

Are you thinking about adding the 327th and 187th into the mod?


327th were the clones on felucia if you didn't know.

The 187th were under the command of general windu which I call the purple guys.
