Yep! Open beta! Have fun and please, please, PLEASE report stuff! :)


INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Extract the archive “PioneerTrails_PRODUCTION_0319-02.exe
2. Cut and paste "PIO" folder into "Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\addon\"
3. Launch Star Wars: Battlefront II and play Pioneer Trails!

-tightened barriers and planning
-added more hintnodes
-increased CP capture region sizes

-adjusted terrain texture saturation
-implemented accurate world shadow map
-implemented random weather
-changed foliage to more accurate grass
-added additional cover in various places
-fixed fountain particle effect color and view distance

The less saturated terrain looks much better now. I suggest replacing those SWBF2 Kashyyyk barriers with the ones from SWBF1, which look like they're made out of logs, for a more natural feel.

Those trees look so much better.

SO much better. Just those trees make me want to play this again. Fantastic job on them! :thumbs:

UPDATE:

- More weather variations!
- Bucket turrets are now SWBF1 version, aka more brutal and actually effective towards anything.
- All vehicles minus speeders/STAPs can now capture CPs but in return have significantly less shields and health.
- AAT primary weapon is no longer *completely* OP; now deals much less splash damage and said splash damage range is significantly smaller.
- Further balanced sides via aggressiveness and difficulty Lua functions.
- HD-ified all the tree textures and junk.
- Sadly had to cut down on the trees' branch counts.
- Fixed some more sounds.


You all know the sunny variation, but here are a few glamour shots anyways. :) Oh, and WULF also made a new skydome texture for it and there are now low-ish stratus clouds.

I gave the rain variation a modified Dagobah skydome+texture, so here, eat an image.

The new storm variation is basically the rain variation but with heavier rain, a darker atmosphere, and occasional lightning - lightning that strikes once within around half-a-minute to about a minute (i.e., more realistically in terms of western Washington state) instead of more-or-less constantly.

This wouldn't be a true recreation of a Washington locale if it didn't have a classic cloudy weather variation. :funny2:

And a relatively-heavy fog variation because of reasons and pretty and atmosphere.

I can't remember, is changing saturation a thing with sky/fx/something files globally? If yes, for the fog variation lowering the saturation of everything by like 30% would be good. The bright colors clash with the fog currently.

Beyond that, awesome.
