The 153rd Legion Mod

It's an era mod, and like the name implies, it features a made up Clone Legion. Yeah, yeah, I know... it's just another clone focused mod with overpowered clones and no attention to any other faction right? Nope. The CIS is all modded up, too. :P
It will also have a Galactic Civil War component, so in the Instant Action list will appear: "153rd Legion CW" and "153rd Legion GCW" [or maybe, 153 CW, 153 GCW, 153 ROTE]but more work has gone in to the CW missions and units so far, although, it was easier to set up the rebel and imperial sides i've done so far, since I already had a good pattern from the CW and was not making everything up as I went along.

A little background.

I wanted to make a mod that was more realistic (without sacrificing gameplay) and had maybe a few maps to go with it, but sides were easier than maps, so after a few really old public "betas" I finally got it figured out how to start balancing the units better. Anyway, the GCW era should be pretty balanced, and I think the CW should be, too, but it would be a different kind of balance. Instead of the riflemen on either side being balanced perfectly against each other, the Clone rifleman is 50 hp better. but then the heavy rifleman for the CIS (SBD has a ton more armor than the Heavy Trooper (a clone rifleman) and a more powerful blaster.


Estimated progress: I think 70% would be a fair estimate for v1.0

Current Readme

Please don't ask for beta's. I'll send pm's when I'm ready.

Todo: finish up some sides (need a few more, and a few weapons need tweaking, [edit=and need some "lowrez" models for a bunch of the custom units that have HD or otherwise new models, but no new lowreZ skeleton type models]), finish adding GCW missions, finish updating CW missions.

I've been wondering when we'd see a mod from Kinetos. :wink:

If I may ask, how is the Mando dual-wielding the blade and the blaster accomplished? Is the blade a primary weapon and the blaster a secondary?

I think so, I have this for my Geonosian Soldier on LaPR too.

Also, there are some things to fix in your readme:

The improved underhand chaingun anim was made by Syth.
DC-15 carbine: It depends:
-OOM-9 made a carbine, available in the various clone trooper weapon pack, but it was directly exported to SWBF2, so Darth_Z didn't convert it.
-There is one carbine model made by Som3 and exported by Deviss, available in Deviss's weapons pack 1.
-The DC-17 commando pistol was made by Dragonum for [ML]Kashyyyk
-The sounds are ripped form SW:RC so they were made by LucasArts and Activision.

I think its more balanced now.
The jetpack was blue originally, that's why I added some random blue parts to the armor.
So now there's very little blue left, and some other parts are just better.

Unit Overview


I'll try to describe the basic units here, some of the commandos, hero support, and heros aren't done, or need to be updated, or there are a lot of them and I dont want to post that much info in one post, so heres the more basic units that show up on every map.

Also, there are several varieties of grenades, so I've listed them with descroptions: here.

Soldier
Hidden/Spoiler:
Rifle - plays like a stock rep or all rifle
Pistol - plays like a stock pistol
2 Thermal Detonators.
normal HP and movement
Hidden/Spoiler:
Exceptions/Differences between factions, whatever.
The B1 and OOM battle droids carry semi automatic rifles (refered to as "carbine" from now on) instead of pistols, but only 350 hp
The clones use a "DC-15s Carbine (auto)" which is just a rifle with a carbine model
In some environments, the rebels use A280's or A295's, normally they use DH-17's
Like in the stock sides, the E-11 fires slightly faster and does slightly less damage.


Assault
Hidden/Spoiler:
Rocket Launcher - less accurate than stock. rockets "waver" a little in the air, so rocket sniping will be harder. Rockets do more damage to vehicles than stock though, and can lock on to turrets.
Pistol
2 Concussion Grenades
1 Haywire Grenade
450 hp, slower than soldier, like stock
Hidden/Spoiler:
Exceptions
Again, OOM droid has a carbine, not pistol, and still has 350 hp i think, but might be as fast as a soldier


Sniper
Hidden/Spoiler:
Sniper rifle - like stock
pistol - like stock
2 Fragmentation Grenades
Recon Droid
I think I must make sure the speed and HP are the same, I may have changed the clone a while ago, but not the imperial or rebel snipers

The OOM Battledroid Sniper has the E-5s sniper rifle, which has a different zoom, kind of like some of the space turrets, where you can zoom in and out rather than having 2 fixed zooms. The droid can't move while zooming. It fires a burst of less powerful bolts, and is less precise while moving. The AI don't seem to snipe as well with it, but it's fine for a player.


Engineer
Hidden/Spoiler:
Carbine - usually a semi automatic version of the side's rifle
fusion cutter
"com_weap_inf_medical_device" (I dont know what to call it, or what msh to use, its kinda like a fusion cutter for people and animals, but it useful once in ten seconds, healing 250 hp in one shot.)
2-3 (I forget which) Frag Nades
Hidden/Spoiler:
Exceptions
The imperial engineer uses a DH-17 Carbine, not an E-11
The OOM Pilot Droid has no need of a medical device, his fusion cutter repairs battledroids, all other fusion cutters destroy battledroids.


Now for a couple units with Points To Unlock (PTU)

Recon - 4 PTU
Hidden/Spoiler:
blaster*
stealth - pretty much stock, i dont think i changed it much.
Poison Grenade
Melee - odf's based on force push, just swings the gun or punches at the enemy
Hidden/Spoiler:
Exceptions
*In the CW era, Carbine. In the GCW era, light commando pistol - a stock commando pistol
The ARF Trooper has a Static Field Grenade, it's just like poison, but electircity based


Marine - 8 PTU (The basic "marine" is essentially just a tougher rifleman, I needed some guys to kinda balance against the SBD, so made the Clone Heavy Trooper with a similar weapon layout.)
Hidden/Spoiler:
Rifle - using a heavier rifle msh than the soldier, like a DLT-19 or DC-15a
Rifle "(heavy)" - a second power setting to the same rifle. fires a more powerful, larger shot, might be faster too. Longish shot delay, uses ammo more quickly, semi automatic.
2 Thermal Det's (maybe give them more? or a different nade?)
Melee
And I decided to give them some more HP and maybe make them slower, otherwise they're probably too much like riflemen. I also might make the heavy shots do extra damage to buildings and vehicles.

Exceptions
Rebel currently uses an A295 msh, but I think I'll have him use the DLT-19, like the imperial.
The SBD has no nades, but a lot of health, is pretty slow, but has a double barrelled heavy repeater instead of a standard rifle.


Whew... long post :faint:

Maybe I'll post more info later on some of the other units, which will be more complicated, because there are different ones for different maps and stuff...
