Geonosis Outpost Ambush WIP

The "Geonosis Outpost Ambush" map is one that i've been working on for some time. The main "outpost" is one of the bunkers from geonosis as a command post for the CIS. The republic is the one ambushing, but I don't think "ambush" could be the correct term. It's more like an assault rather than an ambush. There is a small sidetrack base but that's probably closest to an ambush. I'm thinking that I should add a vehicle, and a few ammo and health droids. The republic "sidetrack" command post is a small setup with some sniping spots. It uses the ep2 clones for the republic side. I'm also thinking of adding a shadow trooper and a droid toxin(or poison, or whatever you wanna call it) unit. Here are a few screen shots:

Several things:
-could use many, many, MANY more props
-looks pretty flat overall - try creating more hills and variations in the terrain
-needs lighting, yo!

What Marth said, but to add to that, it feels too big. Tightening up all the props you have would better the gameplay, I guarantee you.

UPDATE:
I made a few of the changes you guys suggested such as...
-flat land
-no tight gameplay
Here's what it looks like:

But when I play tested I found a few errors:
There was an object that is kind of too low to the ground

I also noticed I need to update the barriers, but I killed the unit before I could get a screenshot
But There was a few command post changes, as you can see in the first screenshot.

So I'm working on changing those now.
I don't think I should really add any units, because I tried it before and it crashed. But I'm gonna try again!

I suggest posting your WIP screenshots in either .jpg or .png format so that they don't take an unnecessarily long time to load.

Its looking much better, still it feels like it needs more rocks or something so it doesnt look as empty. If your planning to make it a smaller map, you could try placing some more structures around the main area you plan to fight in and add in some invisable barriers behind them. Trecnhs could help with that aswell or terrian that is a bit hilly/ mountain like. Those crate props have the potential to make the map a bit more interesting if placed smartly.

You know what would be cool? Night weather (and lighting of course) - I don't think we've ever really seen it done (well, anyway, heh) ever, and Battlefront does night maps really well in terms of visuals. :P

I could edit the bunkers on hoth to make a geonosis bunker, or I could create a good cover spot by adding a republic gunship (just the object, not the vehicle) and put a crate inside the open doors. And I could add rocks, pebbles and other stuff.
And another thing:I don't exactly know how to add or take away an era, so I turned galactic civil war into an order 66 map. Testing it now.

From the screenshots I suggest making the battle in a small canyon. Then it would be more enclosed and not look so open and plain. Perhaps make flanking possible within the canyon?

I think this map looks pretty cool to be honest. Totally my type. I love the setting of a remote outpost in the flat expansive Geonosis desert. Any way I can get in on a beta testing?

I've been working on it, I've added night weather (with polis massa sky), and I'm trying to put on some new skins, but I'm working on those. Anyway, I noticed right away that there were terrain errors, but I can fix those in a jif. On the skins, I edited jango fett's weapons, skin, and localized to make it a completely different mandalorian. I'll try to add a kind of canyon effect to close up the space, but that'll take a while. So here are the screens:

I added vehicles, but I didn't get a screenshot yet. For the republic, I have IFT-X's. For CIS, I have AAT's. There is a tank for each command posts. I've also added turrets/chainguns.

The maps good so far. But keep playing with the ground a bit. It need some hills and things like that.

Okay, I'm pretty sure that the lighting needs to be fixed. I'll brighten that a bit. And the underground cave I added is actually brighter than the map itself. I can reskin that. And I'm working on the minimap now.

I fixed the lighting issues (so now you can actually see), but the minimap won't exactly work for me. I'm still working on it, though. I'm thinking about adding trenches with the terrain cutter, but I'm still thinking how that's gonna work.
