Mos Someplace [Working Title]
As a few of you may know(maybe two people in all of gametoastdom o0) I have been working on a super-dee-dooper map. The idea came from an old hex edited mod that replaces Rebels with Tuskens on Mos Eisley conquest and Stormtroopers with marines. Tukens for one reason or another would totally kick the empires Diet Dr. Pepper and we would be losing command posts left and right, and it all came down to me on the barge with 1 reinforcement point trying to fend them off while they have 50 points left.
Enough reminiscing. It was all a lot of fun. Ages back I was tihikng of a Mos Eisley, but much bigger. Now I have decided to incorporate the two.
Traditional to Tatooine cities it starts with Mos, I just haven't decided what it will be yet. Right, I'm still rambling. About the mod. Here's a story, unit list and descriptions, etc.
--
Tuskens have always been hostile. Not much at all is known about them, 'cept they've ben here longer than anyone else and didn't take too well to settlers moving in on their land. For quite some time they never went past small raids, attacking stray caravans and the occasional homestead. But the expanding cities only made them more determined. That determination has risen to the extent that they have begun banding together to drive out the aliens for good. More Tuskens than people thought existed began ravaging cities, their crude but effective weapons starting evacuations and lockdowns. Their desert survival skills made them a resilient and formidable foe. Now the massive force moves towards an imperial fortress-city.

Communication has been lost with the neighbouring spaceport. At first he dismissed it as storm interference, but it's been a week. We sent probes, but their signals cut short shortly after. Rumours and ghost stories are beginning to circulate amongst the ranks. While normally it would be dismissed, recent events have pushed us into a state of heightened security.
-
We have identified the problem. Indigenous life forms have taken arms and mobilised against the settlements. While our probes have made little progress, we estimate their forces are much larger than ours. Our resident engineers have provided the men with equipment that should help a great deal in whatever may come. We're prepared to take whatever means necessary to repel this threat.
Tuskens:
Tusken Raider
The face of the enemy, their cyclers may seem slow and clumsy compared to the E-11 but a good aim can make short, agonising work of his targets.
Tusken Looter
As people fled their material belongings it was fairly common for the Tuskens to utilize these new assets. Whenever weapon stores had been found or taken, which was not an uncommon thing, the prizes were given to specially chosen warriors that were voted 'most likely do the most damage in case of conquest resulting in their acquisition of high grade explosives'.
Tusken Hunter
The most accurate amongst the ranks are specially equipped with a bolt action rifle, a steady hard-hitting weapon that more often than not gets a kill with every pull of the trigger.
Tusken Executioner
When attacking Jawa sandcrawlers the warriors fiercest in combat would sometimes deprive the corpses of their weapons. Modifying them from stunner to lethal anti-personnel they should be dealt with from a distance.
<Hero>
Tusken Psyker
It is said that the force can be born into any creature. This applies even to the beastmen of the desert. Taking advantage of this power to gain a leading role in the Tusken army the monster is controlled almost entirely by this strange energy. For this reason it was posessed into creating a lightsaber[Like Jaden Korr from JKA] using crystals mined from rocks in the dune sea, the Psyker makes for an immensely lethal enemy.
Empire
Hammers
Specially trained for fighting in a city environment they are supplied with emergency supplies, trip mines and a secially designed rifle attachment to throw the sand people a nice going away party.
Trap Master
Using the lightweight armour of scout troopers and packing more tricks than your local hooker. Get to a high vantage point and use your rifle to pick the enemies noses.
Support Specialist
If you can't take the heat, stay out of the desert. And stay farther away from these guys. While they are sufficiently armed to keep intruders at bay, they are probably better used repairing the city's defenses and gving their comrades support.
Kyross' Guard
The few, the proud, the henchmen of the megalomaniac. They take 50 points to unlock and with Diet Dr. Pepper good reason. I like my sand people medium rare.
<Hero>
Kyross
ITS'A ME!
<Other>
Imperial Probe
The enemy comes in numbers far greater than our own. We have to compensate with superior technology. Expendable distractions or support fire, they do more than just relay their surroundings.
I am thinking of retexturing some guys, still trying to make skiffs fly. A few sound issues. Other than that all that's left is the construction of the city, and the hardest part of it is done already. It's quarter to 3 in the morning so if I had anything else to say, I forget. Will probably not update until it is finished.

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I'm almost too scared to ask what 'force peel' does!

ShellHound; I'd bet he used the animations + comboes from one of the jedies (Obi Wan, Luke, Vader etc.) or probably used the document in The Documentation: BF2 Jedi Creation which simply step-by-step teach you how to create a jedi, which is simply a unit with lightsaber.
what exactly does "peel" mean...? (for us who's not born with english as our primary language )
Diet Dr. Pepper good, Ky!!
can't wait to try it out!

RE: Mos Someplace [Working Title]
I see you used teh Dooku animations, right? Or is it vader's? anyways, it looks liek a cool map.
RE: Mos Someplace [Working Title]
Jabba is correct. And I will tell how I got it to work. It's realllly easy. I just copied all of Dooku's assets(animations, model, odfs, cis lightsaber) to hthe imperial side. I made a copy of Dooku's file, renamed it, and just tinkered with stats. For the tusken psyker I copied jedi Luke's file and also edited the stats, primarily the geometryname line. It's not rreally giving normal units a lightsaber, it's just changing the model on a hero. For this reason though I have to edi the sounds for my heroes, because the Tusken has Luke's voiceovers. I could say he is the long lost Diet Dr. Pepper son of Luke Skywalker, but I don't think that would fly too well.
The principle behind force peel is it superheats the air around your enemies scorching and blistering them, but when I test it on normal units they pretty much just explode into dust.

Re: RE: Mos Someplace [Working Title]
Yeah, you're probably right!! But it would be a great SW saga storyline modification!! Or what about the Tusken as a long lost sibling to Luke/Leia? You know Anakin took a break in their slaughter when he tried to rescue his mother?Kyross wrote: the Tusken has Luke's voiceovers. Just for clarification....I was kidding.....

Lawl. ._>
So, I have settled on the name Mos Vies(suggested by hellhound) and my beta testers will be EraofDesann and Qdin. Progres on the map itself has been slow because an alien kept stealing the computer, but with luck(lots of it) the map will be out around the end of the week/weekend.
