Well, here is v2.0. Here is a changelog:

-----V2.0-----
-wind has been addded
-minimap has been added, constant WIP until I finally release 2.1 final. Please no negative critism, minimapping is hard! I will accept suggestions and negative critism delivered in a meaningfull way. For instance I dont want: "Bruh ur minimap sucks! go fix it!" However, something like: "I really like the minimap, but you should move some buildings in the right side to make it more accurate." is much, MUCH better.
-grass has been added. It looks great!
- the fire rate of the close quarters classes has been increased and the damage decreased. Ineffective at range as recoil is low-medium and it sprays everywhere when held down. Deadly at close and close-medium range and when capturing CP's. (mp5 and mac 10.)
-updated loadscreen to compensate for grass and map changes.
-Localization of the buttons from imperials and rebels to U.S.A and terrorists in the team select screen.
-Custom tips
-General polishing.
-Thicker dust storm. It looks like you are in it
-Not your usual 3A5T3R 366 (easter egg.) You will know when you find it! You may have to play several times (re-starting the mission) to find it.

Will include a medic kit I made myself once I can export.

Always try to have the download link in the post to begin with, staff probably wouldn't like it if they saw a release thread without a release.
But moving on, gave it a download, I'll give you some feedback once I get done with a playthrough or two.

EDIT: Well, the layout/amount of cover is much better than v1.0, it felt a little more like a village than before. I still have issue with some of the weapons, feeling as if the fully automatic rifles fire a little too slowly, but that's personal preference. Something I would like to ask for though; variation between classes. The medic class was no different than the swat team member, exact same weapons essentially, and he had no function as a medic either. All classes on either team had the same grenade, this felt...boring.
It wasn't all bad though, the dust storms and accompanying sound streams were well done, and gave the map a more realistic feeling. I really think there needs to be a lot more work done on the sides though.

Alrighty, what exactly are you proposing to the sides? The medic will have a medkit once I can export properly with ZE tools. How was my minimap? Good? Bad? That took me quite a few hour hours of work, lining it up and what not. Glad you like the map itself. I know the sides are kind of boring at the moment, I will fix that in v2.1, with your suggestions of course.

The minimap was fine, matched the map fairly well. For the sides, just add more variety between units. At the very least different types of grenades. Maybe a shotgun instead of a machine gun. Small changes like that.

Hm....Taivyx's sides do come with a frag grenade, and I can model a shotgun ( but I still would need to be able to export it, doh! ) Which shotgun would you propose I model? Spas 12, remington?
Yes, I made a lot of changes. More to come to perfect my first map! Once I perfect it on GT, its off to filefront! Yay!

I modeled a shotgun a long time ago that might be useful, I'll see if i can get a pic. I don't really know anything about it other than I modeled it from a ref pic someone gave me.

Ok, little review here.

V2 looks better than V1 :)


Quick things I noticed.

I spawned at the CP labeled 1 and appeared right next to 2 instead.
Rifle fire rates could be generally increased.
Maybe scale the sniper rifles up? I'm not sure how big they are supposed to be but they look small to me. Also, shot's per clip, not sure how much they have, but it seemed high.
troopers don't seem to have sound effects, like, running and chatter and getting hurt.
wind seemed a little loud to me. maybe partly due to the previous statement.


Blood effect.

Ok, so... more than a few times actually... I saw a Seal enter my screen, and a flash of red, so I killed him. Except... he was on my team... I'd suggest making the effect smaller and darker and maybe fade a little faster.


Gameplay.

It looked like there were some cover objects in V2, which is good.
The little archways are the only way to get between the 6 sectors right? The problem is, you get one little doorway that you're trying to squeeze through, and the enemy has a nice big area to fan out and concentrate fire on the doorway. I'd suggest adding more arches in the walls, or perhaps stairs to go over the walls to provide more paths.

I will check the spawns, as that is odd. I will tone down the wind noise. I will also add stairs over all the walls, I like that idea!! I hope the AI can use them too. I will increase the fire rates a tad. I can scale down the blood effect. The sniper actually has one shot per clip, and reloads after every shot. That will not be changed. Not sure about the chatter/getting hurt, those should be their. As for footsteps, I believe there were no footstep sounds released with the tools, could be wrong. Thanks for the feedback! :thumbs:

Alright here goes...
I really enjoyed the map, the sides could use a few improvements (such as more units per class), but it was pretty good.

In a future release (if there will be another) I suggest adding random skydomes to let you play at day or night and maybe some sort of U.S. Soldier with night-vision goggles and a rifle with some sort of green-colored scope (to simulate night-vision).
Another thing you should do is make the town a little larger and space the buildings apart a little more (maybe have a few buildings with insides) and then add vehicles for each side: Terrorists could drive open cars with heavy repeating guns in the back and the U.S. could have tanks (you would either have to make the model yourself or put a request in for one)
Lastly a custom local side could be fun (basically it could be a bunch of running frantic citizens which don't fight either side, or maybe they could fight against one side)

Overall I have to say that this map is pretty fun but could use a little improvement :wink:


EDIT: Almost forgot, you should use the AH-6 Littlebird assets for U.S. air support and maybe have an anti-air unit for the terrorists.

tanks for now wont be added. Locals, * maybe * and thats a HUGE maybe. In a future earthly map I will have tanks and related vehicles. Thanks for the feedback!
