Hey Guys, today I want to present you the first release of my map Caron Prime: Liberation Action.

So, lets start with the Story I wrote (There might be some writing mistakes, my english is not the best I guess)

Notes: - this version of the map is not online compatible
- many unfixed bugs like the minimap etc.
- You'll need to set your graphic settings to the maxium that it looks like on the screenshots (the light part is important), otherwise the map will be much brighter.

A Clone Wars Map for Star Wars: Battlefront II.

Map Installation (for those who don't know how to):

1. Go to your ..\Lucasarts\Star Wars Battlefront II\Gamedata folder in your programms folder.
2. In it, create a new folder called "addon".
3. Put the downloaded folder "SCI" (not the archive) into it and start Battlefront II.

Note: You should have the official V 1.1 patch from Lucasarts and the unofficial v 1.3 patch from Zerted.

The Map is really good but there are some issues :)

-REP has an Hero CIS not
-Its too dark. If you play that map you have to make your screen brighter in order to see everything
-Engineer has no weapon (REP one untested, i forgot to test that). Noone is going to play with the enginner


Everything else is damm good. Awesome work you did very well

Yes, I had a couple of issues also when playing, half way through my game would ctd. In game, sometimes I would not be able to switch back to my primary weapon. It is pretty dark also as the above post quoted. Also, when playing as Jet I believe, if I changed to my secondary the game froze and crashed to desktop also. Hope this report helps :D

-I looked up and searched for the problem why the CIS has no hero (actually General Grievous should be there). After some minutes I found out that the lvl side file from which Grievous is loaded was deleted from the SCI addon folder. I will fix this in the next (V. 1.0) Version, but if you want to fix this now, just download MandeRek's General Grievous from the Assets Releases forum and place the in this file included lis.lvl under SCI/_LVL_PC/SIDE and then Grievous should be there. 8)

-I know, it's very dark, but on my screen I can see nearly everything. It's hard to recognize the enemy, but I made it like that because it's night and I think it makes the map harder. But you can activate "View enemy symbols" in the options, that will help you in this point.
But if you "hate" it like that, I can make the map a little, little bit brighter in the next release ;)

-Yes, the droid engineer has no weapon. I thought about one, but I didn't want to give him a shotgun like the normal game did. And then I remembered that Parts and Bantha55 also gave their droid engineers only a fusion cutter and I thought that will be okay like it is. Please post an idea of a weapon for this unit if you have one!

I tried to find those weapon issues, but both of them didn't show up when I was playing, everything worked fine. Can you please retry it and report me if it happens again? And on which class couldn't you switch the weapons back?

Add glowing parts to the armor of the clones and droids if you want the map to be really dark. Example:

Before you bring up how against the lore it is, keep in mind there's a couple thousand other clone eras/maps out there, and this would make yours different and unique.

Or instead, maybe you can give the clone troopers their flashlight helmet attachments as pictured here. And the battle droids, at least the B1s, can have those flashlight head gear they used in the second episode of TCW Season 1. Something like this.

The flashlights do seem pretty fitting for this map. Great job on the map though it's a lot of fun :thumbs:

Alright, I played through the game again, and it seems I only crash when I play as the Republic, but not as the CIS. Also the CIS did not have a hero. To answer your question as to which class is responsible for not allowing me to switch back to my primary weapons is all of them. At first, I am allowed to switch back between the two, but 5 minutes later or so with the class, I am not able to switch back to my primary, it was pretty odd, especially as the jet trooper, running around with a grenade launcher everywhere. I tried other modifications too see if it was just my swbf, but the others seemed fine. No clue what is going on, other then that, great map!!

The problem with those flashlights is they'd only be visible if the unit was facing you, not if viewed from the side or back. I've been there, done that.

I actially say its one of the most awesome maps out there but it still needs some work in it. The Darkness is a problem if you play while the sun is still out there :) But its still awesome

Nice Idea, but if I do something like that then only on the battledroids, because I can't imagine how to do that on 212th legion troopers...

I gave a fix to the CIS hero problem my post above. ;)
But the weapon Problem is very strange... I actually can only guess on what it depends on, so I think it could be that the map needs to much recouses from your PC (What also could be the problem why it's not online compatible). Can you please post your RAM size?

OK luke you sayed i should posts any ideas about weapons for the engeneer. Here's one :)

Give him a freeze canon (if thats possible?). So if he hits someone the one cant move for 15 seconds or something like this. So he's not able to kill someone but hes able to survive :) .
Maybe it is important to give that canon a ammo limit and a only 1 shoot per 10 seconds. Else to many guys are just standin around and do nothing :) .
