(Version 2.0 Release Thread)

After about 3 months of work, it is finally here. The final version of Kothlis: Sea Haven is ready for download.

As most of you who played the beta already know, the resort features mostly close quarters combat, but there's a handful of positions suitable for sniping as well. Before each match, be it conquest or CTF, the game will randomly choose a time of the day for the match to take place. These time of day variants greatly change the feel of the scene and different combat approaches may be required for each one.

Among some other things, this final version features a loadscreen for each variant, a minimap, some small tweaks and a special acoustic effect added to the discotheque tracks that you should definitely check out (thanks a lot to Marth8880 for this one).

Phenomenal work, dude. Besides a few tiny complaints (the object pop-in and the level of light in the "nighttime" setting), this is an extremely well put-together map. The ambiance in the evening and rainy settings is top-notch.

I love the little "extra" you did, like the blue name in the menu and the map preview. The health and ammo droids is a good thing now. I always seem to die when I really need one. I was hoping for the objects in the buildings but I guess it's ok. You did say it would take a long time to do that and not adding the RC mod is a bit of a shame, but overall, it's really amazing. This map really needs to be in a big game. PLEASE do not lose your source files of this map. It's to good to lose. Just add it to dropbox or something like that. Superb work and it is sad to see you leave the modding stage. Cheers

Don't worry. Right now I'm uploading the source files of all my maps (i.e. this one, Alzoc 3 and Honoghr) to Mediafire. After the upload is complete I'll post the links in the Released Assets Forum for people to download, tear them apart, see how something was done and maybe learn in the process. Since I'm not going to mod anymore, having these files just sitting in my computer doing nothing just feels like a big waste.

And yeah, I wish I could keep making maps, but I have priorities now. I will still visit the forums and help whenever I can, though.

Have you considered giving someone else the honor of finishing anything you couldn't finish? Like the props in the building? I don't know, it just seems like this map deserves everything. Not saying its not perfect, i'm saying to finish the things you don't have time to complete.

Your map is perfect for what I like, although it can be a little hard to snipe (what I do) in some areas. This map is perfect balance wise and if I had an opportunity to re-create this map (in Unity) I would. So I do want to ask if I could use your layout for anything I may want to do if I want to make this map. Of course you would get credit for it. I just love the map so much and it is possible to expand on it. I don't know how to use the ZE which you know that, so it would be made in Unity and not for a game, but for a scenic thing. Like a demo or something for people to walk around and explore.

I perfectly understand how you feel. I've kind of felt this way sometimes too. And yeah, I think I can give "licenses" for people to do their own takes on my maps... we would have to talk. Feel free to PM me.

There are tutorials out there. Check them out and take your own conclusions. :wink:

One thing I forgot to mention, I really like the fact that the load screen changes according to what map cycle it is. That's a really good touch to your map.

Incredible job! I haven't gotten around to playing it yet, but I just watched the video and it was really well made. I really enjoyed the choice of music; I thought it fit the mood of the map well.

Just watched the trailer, and wow. I cant wait to play this map! It looks beautiful. I have to agree on the music in the trailer, good choice :)

I love the fact that you can play it with BFX. And the AI...ohhhh the AI works so well in this map. Teamwork and tactics. And I also love the random weather. Congratulations for such a great map.

Hey GAB thanks for your great map! Like said before I love the random weather, the enviroment and the reskins of some props.
