DARDA: BEACH
Current version: Beta 0.99 (Open)

Hi everyone! I am very pleased to announce the release of Darda: Beach into open beta. What this means is that the map is complete to the point where I am happy with it. I have achieved the vision I had when I set out to create this map, and I have had a lot of fun and learned a whole lot about modding along the way. Why 0.99 instead of 1.0? I know the map is not absolutely perfect, and that there are small things I have missed, so I am open to suggestions from you, the community, as to how I can improve the map.

The map is Clone Wars - Conquest and has some campaign-like elements in it. The Republic must fight their way uphill from the beachhead to reach and capture the CIS bunker. The CIS must protect their defenses at all costs and stop the Republic advance.

Wow, these screenshots look better than I expected! As always I enjoy the new units since I am not one for plain old same old units but you have perfected the sides! The map itself looks fine but I suggest retexturing some of the objects to blend in with the background but this is just a suggestion.

This map is awesome :eek: The units are so good. You can even play as N-K Necrosis!!! And a very nice custom Republic Mech Trooper :thumbs:
Vehicles are great. The environment looks so polished! And you have achieved a new level of explosion and fog effects which are unbeatable.
You have done an awesome job with the objectives. You can play either as the Republic or the CIS and each of them has diferent objectives (deffend or attack, of course). Playing with the CIS is unusually awesome, although neither one or the other calss has a variety of units (you have the ones you need, and that's good).
And...
Hidden/Spoiler:
The V-Wing's bombing run is astonishing!!! The wall is breached and the V-Wing reports in!!
To sumarize,

it is a chaotic battle that concentrates 100% action in some minutes
EDIT: The music is really good. I'm enjoying it while playing. This, people, is an instant download!

I really enjoyed playing this map. The way you have to fight the battle is great and added to the fun.
As a "republic" person, I only played as the republic so far and lost. I'm not saying I'm the best player
on the planet, but I don't usually lose. I really like having a challenge. And of course the map looks
fantastic. Overall great map! :thumbs:

Thanks for the compliments/feedback!

It is certainly a very hard map. I lose at it frequently. That was one of my goals with this mod, to make it fairly difficult. Hopefully people still enjoy it. :)

Can you add mode with only conquest features, i.e. without missions and with fully open map?

I'll consider doing that at some point. Right now I'm throwing all ideas for future changes to this map in a bucket, and setting them aside for a later time (maybe a few months from now?). Thanks for the idea. :)

Sorry it took me a while to say this, but you did a great job on this version Jedimoose! A big improvement from the beta i tested for you. A fun, chaotic map that really challenges the tactics a player has to use to win. Cant wait to see what you've got cooking for your next map.

This is an incredible map you have created there mate! I haven't had this much fun with a community made map in along time! Even though this is the beta its becoming a permant map in my library until future iterations are released. Can't wait to see what else you have in store for us! :D

Is it difficult to give Necrosis, darth maul sword ? just to look more like himself, or will that affect his combos/movement?

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly. If you're asking how to make the blades red (that's all I did, I didn't change any combos or animations) then all you have to do is go into the odf for Grievous' lightsabers and change the blade texture to red instead of blue or green. It's a very simple procedure.

I was asking if u could give Necrosis a double red lightsaber.
Just to make him look like the original Necrosis from Star wars Galaxies.
My question was if u give necrosis darth maul's blade would it change its combos? or is the change singular, doesnt affect anything that is...Image

I could easily give him a double bladed lightsaber, or even two or four... But I wouldn't be able to give him Darth Maul animations because Grievous' skeleton is fundamentally different from the standard human skeleton. So he would still have the standard Grievous animations unless I made a custom animation set for him, which is way outside of what I want to do with this small project. I figured giving him 4 single sabers would be fine.

I don't have an account there so I'm not sure what it is. If it's MandeRek's custom Grievous animations then yeah I did look into those.
