Greetings all. After four years of doing nothing with this map, it is now finally completed!

It's called version 3.0 to avoid confusion with my old versions 1.0 and 2.0, as well as RSL's and NullCommando's versions 1.0 and 2.0 from a while back.

What it is:

This is a map based on the location where the second level from "Star Wars: Dark Forces" took place.

Information:
----------------------------------------

This map is only playable on the Galactic Civil war era. All sides/units are custom.

Available modes are:

* Team Deathmatch
- Empire versus Rebels

* 2-Flag CTF
- Empire versus Rebels

* Hunt
- Phase 2 Dark Troopers versus Rebels
- This mode attempts to recreate the Rebel massacre at Tak Base.

* Campaign
- Play as Kyle Katarn, and investiage the aftermath of the Rebel massacre.
- This mode attempts to recreate the objectives of the second level from "Star Wars: Dark Forces."

* Domination
- Imperial Special Forces versus Rebels
- Permanently capture all the enemy's command posts to win.

* Survival
- Imperial Special Forces versus Rebels
- Defend your team's command post and survive until all enemy forces are eliminated.

Installation:

Extract the TTB folder from the archive into your Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\addon folder. Delete it to uninstall.

Just awesome. Everything about it is great, I love how many gamemodes there are and the map is so well done!

Congratulations on the 3.0 release! :) Ah, man. NullCommando. Haven't seen him in awhile. It was a privilege and an honor to beta test it for you.

Definitely nice to see older maps on Battlefront 2 get an improvement even though this was already such a great map! Will this be the final release of Talay Tak base or did you have some more plans to tweak the map?

I think he just ended up completely stopping that Naboo one. Naboo: Selton I believe is what you are referring to?

As for the RC-era mod, I am not sure.

I'll let him come on and explain if he wishes to further clarify on this, I can't really speak for him. I'm only speaking from what I understand as to the status of those things.

@MikeTheBeast55 - from my understanding, this is probably the final version. At least for awhile, I gather. As far as I'm concerned, the map is as close to that Dark Forces level as it can be in this engine and it also offers us different viewpoints regarding the actual massacre through the other modes, which is really cool. Hunt is probably the best representation next to the Domination mode for what the massacre looked like at the time.

Those are still in progress (though very gradually), but will of course be released when ready. :)

I think some information got misinterpreted here...This particular map has never had any release before. Sure, it shares the same name as maps that have had releases, but that's it. It is a new complete remake from scratch map of my first map, which is no longer up to date on my standards of quality. And Revan is correct; the layout is completely different, and it is the final version.

I just played the campaign mission and liked it very much. My only complaint is that the two guns can get boring after a few minutes, some explosives would be cool. Other than losing interest in the guns everything is awesome.

So, i played this map a few hours and it's just awesome :thumbs: my review follows (campaign)

First of all i loved the design of the base, it's looks like a real rebel camp! - I think its need some turrets, not necessarily used by the AI but as props.
I enjoyed how the difficulty was setup, you need to pay attention to the ammunition, and the AI is no longer stupid.
The extra lifes/reinforcements hidden in the map are a good features - How many are there? I need to know if i found them all :P
As anthony said some explosive would be welcome.

Other Modes:

I loved the throw sound of nades, it's a nice tuch. I can't hear any sfx from the DL-18 pistol, maybe my audio is too low
Domination game mode crahes, note: i only have my era mod on without any modifications to the stock sides
Hunt mode is very funny, but the Dark Troopers are OP, less damage from the primary weapon is welcome.

This is a great mix of high quality map and great game mods, keep it up! :D

I've finally managed to play it and I have to say that this is a great map - I loved all the different game modes.

I especially found fun and challenging to play domination at elite difficulty & the sides are great too, keeping the swbf2 style, but feeling fresh and new at the same time.

Great job as always, AQT!
