ZETool problem under 5.11
Hi,
i installed the latest trail version that supports the pandamic addon. I wanted to install the ZETool, too, because my project are stored as exp file and the trail 5.11 can only open scn. So i wanted to import the msh via ZEtool, modify with the pandamic addon and reexport. I copied the ZEtool files in the C:/User/Anakin/XSI_5.11_Foundation\Addons folder and restarted XSI. But the ZETool doesn't seam to be loaded.
Someone an idea??

You can use Mod Tool 7.5 and Foundation 5.11 side by side, they're separate installs.AceMastermind wrote:... Ande's ZETools can be used for higher versions, preferably Softimage 7.5 and up...

Yes i wanted to use them side by side. For 7.5 the ZETools work. But in foundation 5.11 it is not shown up.

Right, it wasn't written using the 5.11 SDK, thats why I was saying use them side by side. You can use Mod Tool 7.5 to import assets and export out to 5.11 using a common exchange format.Anakin wrote:... But in foundation 5.11 it is not shown up.

But my 7.5 can only export to dotXsi. Does this support enveloping, UVing,...??

Yep, and with Crosswalk installed you can export as .dae and .fbx too. There's also a Wavefront .obj plugin if you're just working with static objects.

Thank you. I have crosswalk already installed on my 7.5 Modtool. But in my 5.11 it's also not shown up

Crosswalk didn't exist until version 6. It doesn't work with previous versions of the software.

Ah so you mean i export with crosswalk from 7.5 to dae and than import in 5.11 But i can only export to fbx with 7.5. And 5.11 cannot import this.

Re: ZETool problem under 5.11
If you can only export to *.fbx then you're either doing something wrong or your install is broken. Crosswalk can export COLLADA (.dae) too, but I thought you were going to use dotxsi (.xsi) since you mentioned it earlier, preferably format version 5.
The bottom line here is to find a method of exporting the asset to a format supported by the software you want to import to, if it requires multiple programs or format conversions then so be it. If you want ZETools to work with XSI 5.11 then grab the source and modify it to work with it.
