Isolating parts of a model [Solved]

Post by jojo3450 »

So when you import a model lets say a tie pilot in xsi, you see different colored points for example the helmet is yellow and the shoulders red. Is there a way to isolate just the helmet and delete the body?
Or isolate the body from the helmet? Then reattach it to another body?

Sure, select all the polygons of the head and then Create > Poly Msh > Extract Polygons (Keep). There are a number of methods to attach it to another body. I usually extract what I want to use, save it as a Model (.emdl), load the object I want to attach it to, then import the Model into that scene.

probably easier to just select the helmet manually (and do what jedimoose said) if it is just 1 bone
