Properly setting up layers for a walker
Can anybody tell me how to set up layers for a walker? So far, when I import a vehicle, it dumps everything onto a "default" layer. ATM I'm basing my layers off the unit layers (rig, bones, mesh, sv) but I don't know if I need any more layers or whether this is enough.

That's enough for pretty much anything with a skeleton that you're animating. I just got a walker working for the first time last week. I didn't use any layers at all but that's just a matter of preference I guess.

You never *need* to use layers, it's just a lot more helpful when dealing with a lot of objects of varying types. With that said, I'd recommend having a layer for mesh, collision, bones, rig (the root and eff nulls), shadowvolume, and lowrez.

Thanks for the advice. I'm doing my first full walker port by porting the SWBFIII AT-AT.
