Adding animations to new models

Post by Jawa26 »

Hello everyone.

I have started to mod Battlefront 2 again and started to wonder if it was possible
to animate or add animations to custom models?

I am using 3ds Max and I have made a model which looks pretty good but
it does not move at all it just stands frozen, only the weapon will float infront
of the model.

I know that props can be added to the game but if that goes with units aswell
I am not sure. If anyone could help me I would much appreciate it.

You need to use XSI Softimage 7.5 with the ZETools Addon in order to envelop a unit. You must import some other original model form the game like CloneTrooper. Then position your model perfectly to match the CloneTrooper position.Im sure there is tutorial around here about that.

Thank you for your reply Giney.

I have tried using XSI Softimage with the ZETools addon however the whole programs does not
work properly. 9/10 times it freezes, textures cannot be applied and saving models does also
not work.

Is there a more stable and functional version of XSI Softimage somewhere?
I did some research and found that many people seem to struggle with this
program.

I am pretty good with 3d softwares but with this one working seems impossible :(
Are you using the 7.5 version ? Is it not causing problems for you?
