Johnny Chung Lee's Wii Projects....

Postby Hebes24 » Mon Dec 31, 2007 8:53 pm

This guy does some really cool stuff with Wiimotes

His Wii Projects website

He has figured out, using the wii remote and His PC, how to:

Get the Wiimote to track your fingers
Track your head, and change how a 3D image looks based on your perspective
Make an interactive whiteboard using a projector

Watch the Videos on the site, they're so cool!

The finger one is cool, but the HeadTracking and Whiteboard ones are amazing!

*I wish I had a Wii I wish I had a Wii I wish I had a Wii*
It's amazing what people can do with hardware hacking.

It's not Hacking, the Wii uses bluetooth. I looked at the tutorial to use the Wiimote with the PC, and it's not that difficult at all.

This is the idea I was thinking of when I used the words "Hardware Hacking"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_hacking wrote:In home computing, a hacker is a computer hobbyist putting software or hardware of their system to the extreme. It includes building, rebuilding, modifying and creating software (software cracking, demo scene) and electronic hardware (hardware hacking, modding) either to make it better, faster, give added features or to make it do something it was never intended to do. Hobby hacking originated around the MITS Altair.
