Reading through IGN's review and the Wikipedia entry (and based on some gameplay videos I've seen in the past), it (JKA) sure looks like it's not turn-based, although I could be wrong and it could just be very fluid. I've played a little of JK2 and it wasn't turn-based.

I've only played Jedi Academy, though I'd assume the others are like it, and it's not turn based at all. You set your force powers and guns to certain keys and you play without ceasing until the next cut-scene.

Agree. I've got all 3 of them, and you don't have turn based. Gameboy RotS is REALLY turn based; here you can do whatever you want, whenever you want in combat..

They're all three FPS with lightsabers and force added to the fray.

/\ Which one? :P
I have Outcast(from BoPC) it's pretty fun... I kinda liked the original Dark Forces better though.
Don't ask me why. :)

If you want realistic saber combat, get JKA and Movie Battles 2 mod.

Fixed :P

JKA has pretty decent lightsaber combat, but it usually ends up being to guys running around in circles hitting the fire button.

Movie Battles II mod uses OJP (Open Jedi project) for its saber combat, its very realistic.. you cannot take 50 slashes, in fact you cant even take one.

Yeah, but it's not about how many slashes, to me it's about feeling like you're a great swordsman. Games like Revenge of the Sith, or even LotR: The Two Towers/Return of the King handle that the right way. Whether it takes one hit or 20, JA still clumsy in comparison. If it had a lock on feature that might help, but it doesn't. Not unless Movie Battles 2.0 has it. I haven't used MB in a coupl'a years.

I use the Movie Saber Clash Mod for realistic fighting, combined with Saber Block Sounds and Prequel Saber Colors.

I will check these all out , i may look on ebay to get all of them. unless someone on here has a cd for sale that has either ja, jk or kotorII etc..I have wanted to check these out for ever but was always drawn to the mmo of swg. is it possible to run a persistant server like an mmo with mods? for any of these games are there MP mods or do they run Mp at all?

JKA is huge online, and yes get mods to make the most of the online gaming.

Download a load of mods to be able to play as characters for CW GCW and NJO

Just get Movie Battles and JA+, as that seems to be the only mods that are played online anymore.

Im thinking if its possible to run one of these games on a dedicated server and leave the game persistant ( like a fake mmo) and I could make mods to have currency, shops, houses etc.. like swg but free. wonder if the mp tools run on unix....could be sweet

That seems to be the only two mods I have, best of JK3  Movie Battles II took me a while to get working I had to download a lot of patches for the mod and other files, I almost gave up :cpu:
