Stay away. Run run run. I've never even played JKA and I know that KotF is one of the biggest jokes/hoaxes in the JK-series modding community. The website is just an attempt to polish a turd.
I've tried KotF. Trust me, chuck it out the window. It screws up Academy, it's too hard, and it's a demo. Probably the only best thing on it is that enemies have healthbars without you using Jedi Sense.

Have you played the KotF 2.0 Part 1(Final Version)?
This doesn't look like a joke to me

Title : KNIGHTS OF THE FORCE 2.0 (Part 1) Author : Osman Günyaz (Tim) E-Mail : Tim@KotF.com Website : KotF.com Type : EXPANSION PACK File size : 1,25 GB
Demo Release Date : 29 OCTOBER 2006 (6th BEST MOD of MODDB 2006) Beta Release (Part1) : 01 JANUARY 2008 (Turkey) Final Release (Part1) : 01 MARCH 2008 (World) About Part1 & Part2 : http://www.kotf.com/main/parts.htm
************************************* PURPOSE of PRODUCTION and PROCESS *************************************
I developed this project for one purpose only.
Fans from any age, who accepted the 30-year old Star Wars saga as a lifestyle, have one common desire, a common dream. They have dreamed a Star Wars game which will give them the opportunity to play as the movie characters, to play in movie environments and feel 100% Star Wars atmosphere so that they would play over and over again.
In order to reach that dream, I’ve worked for 5 years. I faced a lot of technical difficulties and I expected no gain out of it. All I wanted is to share my creativity with the world and make people happy who shares the same feelings with me.
It is not possible to calculate the number of codes, the graphics, the time for arranging the site & the forum I worked on in this 5 year period. I even had some weight after the time I spent in front of the PC. Although I’m not into sports, I can say that I’ve frozen the last 5 years of my life for this project. I focused my concentration on the project so much that I could not think of anything else. Even when I was outside or with my friends, I was thinking of how to fix the problems I encountered while working on the project.
The weird thing is, whenever you try to spare more time, it is never enough; because this is a complex project which has both a single and a multiplayer gameplay, and which just one person is never strong enough to overcome it. There are many times that you are drowned under details, and keep working on them for years and years.
The thing that makes all these worthwhile is the support that I had from around the world, this is how KotF got larger and larger. But of course, there were ones who were jealous of the progress, they even claimed that the project was completely fake. This is completely normal; whenever you promise to produce something which will effect the entire world, there will be troublemakers as well as supporters.
Most of you think that making a game is just composed of making maps and models. Making maps and models is just the viewable part of the process. People who work on maps do not program them to turn into levels, because in order to do that they need a lot of details to know. If you are working on a serious project and planning to share it with thousands of people, you have to know everything about game making and the game engine you’re working on. In order to prepare such a project like that, you must know something about programming from top to toe and you must put forward an idea and produce your own radical solutions with different approach. This is why there are teams in game development companies who work on different segments.
KotF is not a product of a team work but was put together with the help of hundreds of volunteered star wars fans. This is not an ordinary every day project. KotF is more than a mod with its professional presentation, 6 different language support; which makes it the greates mod project ever. It is 2 GB’s in total.I am planning to release the second part within a few months, after it is completed with your support. Most of the second part is ready but it requires some testing and error detection before it is available for play. Visit here to see a list http://www.kotf.com/main/parts.htm
As the developer of KotF, I have a request from the Star Wars fans. While you play the game, put away all your previous habits from Jedi Academy and try to discover all new features and new key combinations. If you don’t, you will probably fail on many levels and not have the most fun part of the game. The NPC’s are more intelligent and energetic, in order to deal with them you have to read all the tips and tricks on the “help & options” part of the CD menu. This mod gives you the opportunity to push the barriers of your star wars dreams and fantasies.
Have fun. And may the Force be with you…always.

Some of anti-virus programs find the file named cmdow.exe inconvenient which is helping cd menu to run but i assure you its not a virus, dont worry about that. Besides a broad , explanation about this subject can be found here http://www.commandline.co.uk/cmdow/
KotF runs independently from Jedi Academy and its mod files, which means KotF has its own base and mod files. This enables the player to play the mod safely apart from the other modifications that had been previously installed. After KotF has been installed, the player can also continue working on other mods or projects.
NOTE: STAR WARS® JEDI KNIGHT®: JEDI ACADEMY™ MUST BE INSTALLED AND RUNNING ON YOUR PC IN ORDER TO RUN THIS MOD.
Run KotFsetup.exe
KotF will have a complicated but user friend setup. It will search if you have Jedi Academy installed in your computer and ask to you if it can't find After that, setup will install required softwares, update Jedi Academy and copy KotF file's to where they belong. Various thing's will be changed too.
Note : (about update on Jedi Academy) The Jedi Academy you use will not be updated.KotF Setup will copy Jedi Academy files on your hard disk to another folder and a new Jedi Academy will be created for KotF. New foder name "KotF Jedi Academy Expansion Pack"
Knights of the Force (Part I) requires 2.5 GB space on your hard disk.

******************* OVERVIEW *******************
5 YEARS OF HUGE WORK. Knights of the Force 2.0 is a Jedi Academy Modification, which the development took place between 2003 and 2008. Previous 1.0 version was developed and released for Jedi Outcast in 2002.Knights of the Force (KotF) is an expansion pack which recreates Jedi Academy with levels, characters, environments, weapons and vehicles from the 6 movies, cartoons and comics. It is also a detailed Star Wars encyclopedia.
The significant feature of this project which pulled great attention of star wars fans over the world for its innovations on single player and multiplayer options is that it provides the chance of playing all star wars films over Jedi Academy.
These maps and models have been revision with movie standards to look more realistic and move visual for KotF. All maps are bot supported. In addition, the best 30 Jedi Outcast maps (mostly Star Wars movie maps) have been converted and upgraded for Jedi Academy.

****************** ADVICES ******************
Please set your graphic options to their highest settings for maximum quality and enjoyment, including Dynamic Glow.
THERE ARE MANY BORDERS ON THE SINGLEPLAYER SIDE OF JEDI ACADEMY WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW TO BE DEVELOPED. KOTF CROSSES ALL THOSE BORDERS AND BECOMES A FAR MORE EXCITING GAME THAT THE FANS COULD EXPECT. UNFORTUNATELY, ADDING MODELS WITHOUT ANY IDEA ON WHAT IS BEING DONE, WILL HARM THE VERY BALANCED SYSTEM WITHIN THE GAME; WHICH WILL END UP WITH ERRORS OR THE GAME MAY NOT WORK PROPERLY. THIS ESPECIALLY INCLUDES MINI MODES SUCH AS SABER MODELS OR SKINS. IN ORDER TO PULL THESE ERRORS TO A MINIMUM,AND TO PREVENT THE SKINS AND MODES (WHICH YOU PERSONALLY USE) TO CRASH WITH KOTF, THE EXPANSION RUNS ON A SEPERATE FOLDER. IF YOU WANT KOTF TO RUN WITH MINIMUM ERRORS,DO NOT ADD ANYTHING TO KOTF AND DO NOT USE THE CONSOLE COMMANDS TOO FREQUENTLY, IN FACT, USE THE NEW MENUS. THERE IS EVERYTHING YOU NEED ON THE MENUS, AND THERE ARE MANY THINGS YOU COULD DISCOVER IN KOTF, ONLY IF YOU LEAVE YOUR HABITS BEHIND.

********************************* KNOWN BUGS / ISSUES *********************************
This warning is only for single player games. There is text information for 170 characters in 6 different languages in kotf player menu. The game memorizes the character information while you view, but unfortunately there are some memory issues with Jedi Academy.the source code for single player is closed so it is not possible to change that. So,the game can not memorize text info for 170 characters and when the memory is full, the menu system collapses, the keys wont work and you have to type quit to the console in order to exit.
If this happens frequently, use the patch that I prepared. (*) http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/3636/2323aa3.jpg (*) It just disables the text which fills the memory and makes the game flawlessly. After that, the kotf player menu will look like this : (*) http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/2732/jasp2007110410594965ib2.jpg (*) If you run the same patch again, you can return the game back to normal.

Not only does KotF screw up JKA, nearly all of the content is stolen, without even a few thank yous to the community. What a steaming pile of poo that is. If you want a great mod get Movie Battles.
NEVER download KotF. There's lots better mods out there, and most of the JKA community hates the KotF author for stealing so much stuff, so you won't find many servers running it.
PhantoM wrote:.....at least 80%, if not more, of the content is stolen, most likely without permission.
Stolen from who, LucasFilm? I've never asked LucasFilm for permission to use any of their Star Wars content either, so that must mean i'm stealing too.
1) The content is stolen from other publishers and they are not mentioned in the credits 2) I heard it contains a trojan, and the file is only big because he jammed packed it with the base of JKA.. the content isnt that much to equal that size.
ANYWAY! OJP (Open Jedi Project) is great and is used in the mod "Movie Battles II". It is also a separate mod and I recommend downloading.

Like I said in the [GT] JKA thread, I don't really like the Movie Battles II mod. I think I'll just stick with base JKA and JA+ Anyone know how to remove MBII? Do I just delete the Movie Battles folder from Gamedata?
Yeah, deleting it is fine that's how I did got it off as far as I know there is no other way to uninstall it, but remember to get the two MBII files out of the base folder!

Which two files are those? MB_BaseAssets.pk3 and...?
