@AQT: oh yeah, so it is. Thanks. Credit goes to RepSharpshooter then.

Huh. And here for all the time I've been here I thought you were from the Pacific Northwest somewhere.

Firefight mode announed here!
forums/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=24161

For the random map it mentions, basically anyone who can use ZE ok (as in place objects, planning and barriers) can help out. The random map will have a whole set of different interior maps to play firefight on. The modular tunnels kit I made is very useful for this : forums/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=23826 If you're interested in making a firefight random map let me know by PM/post.

Sky, I'll give those tunnels a download and try to put something together for you.

Well exams are over so expect regular updates for the next few weeks.....I'm aiming to get (on average) a support unit done per day at the moment....
To start, here are two of the new hero support units:
Hidden/Spoiler:

Mandalorian Mercenary

Pretty much what you'd expect for a mando unit, armed with a rifle (fires salvoes of 5 shots), a wrist flamethrower and wrist rockets. And a trusty jetpack to zoom around with.

Ace Pilot

An experienced clone pilot in gear appropriate to ground combat. He carries a powerful FA-1 Fletchette Launcher* (essentially a charge up shotgun with recoil), a fusion cutter and two thermal detonators.

* Meant to be a precursor to the FA-3s the EVO troopers of force unleashed used.

Very awesome! I'm glad to see that you are posting updates again. Can't wait to see what you have in store next! :D

Coincidentally, the weapon sound I told you that was meant for a DC-15 type shotgun was actually the closest thing I could find to the sound made by the FA-3s from TFU.

I am vary glad to see updates here again :). I love the ace pilot. One thing about the mando though his jetpack looks like a slightly brighter and more saturated red than his armor.

@AQT: thanks, switched around the shotgun sounds accordingly :)
@skelltor: well spotted, I'll change that. Thanks!

Here's todays update.....can't remember if it was included in Dark Space or not, but it's getting a go in Last Days either way.......

Jet Droid

A flying b1 battledroid armed with an experimental gauss rifle (good against troops and armour, takes a while to warm up),a pistol and radiation grenades. He fulfills a similar role to the Mandalorian Mercenary. Slightly modified versions of this unit will also likely appear in a hunt modes and campaign missions.

Sky, the shots fired from that Ace Pilot shotgun are AWESOME. Love the effects.

@previous: similar to the bfx one (almost exactly the same) but from scratch, bfx one had a small error and not sure who made it (if it was ARC_Commander shouldn't use it).

Anyway lack of updates has been due to working on a new map, but here's the first vehicle for LD.

Hailfire Droid

The hailfire is an anti-vehicle vehicle. It's fast but not maneouverable and lightly armoured (the LD version has about 1/3 the health of an AAT, 1/2 the helath of the stock Hailfire). It excels at destroying enemy armour, installations and aircraft.
Those homing missiles do a lot of damage to armour and are hard to avoid, but you've got a limited amount of them (only 30). They're less effective against troops, especially since they tend to fishtail through the air and the explosions they cause can damage your own vehicle. For troops there's a blaster and the ability to run them over.

Nice missiles. I've always thought the Hailfire Droid was an interesting vehicle, but the stock version just doesn't work well in the game. I'm glad to see you're tweaking it's weapons a bit to make it more useful.
