Frickin. Scary.

I will never, ever visit a mushroom biome.

This is a screenshot of a new mob, called "Mooshroom", which will be added in the 1.9 update, it's not in the game yet.

I keep hearing about the "mushroom biome" but I bet that's the dreamworld/sky dimension.

I doubt it, I think the sky dimension will be entirely different. Since there are giant mushrooms in the backgroud growing - I assume - naturally, it's a safe bet it's the mushy biome. :P

Plus, would'nt the clouds be below you in the sky world?

Son of a firearm. I guess I gotta do some editing. :(

Still, Notch keeps talking about a Dreamworld, and crazy mushrooms and strange grey frosting-ey grass, not to mention the strange dream-cow, seems pretty dream-like.

Well a Dreamworld doesn't have to be a floating world, it could be anything. So there is a good chance as well it could be visited while sleeping, portal or through some other method.

@Grev: the gray grass in that picture might be part of the mushrooms themselves, actually. I totally forgot biology (whoops?) so I can't explain it properly, but it's like a fungus that covers the ground and serves as a base for mushrooms to grow. Ever played Stacraft? Remember that gross purple goo that the Zerg used to grow their structures? It's like that.

@Null: from what I've read, you will have a small chance of "stumbling upon" the Dreamworld when you go to sleep, after you've found it (and you managed to come back to reality somehow), you may access it again whenever you want; likely by sleeping.

@Dohnutt: never had them crippling my structures before (I just finished building a water wall around my new shelter today), but I bet it's troublesome. I kinda like the idea of them wrecking your stuff, it removes that sense of safety that we have all grown used to. It makes you wary, a Enderman might rip your wall open during the night, a Creeper might see you through the hole and decide to do his "that's a nice houssssssse you have there" thing and then all heck will break loose. Personally I find that exciting, gives me a reason to always carry a sword around. But yeah, a nerf might be good.

I've build a horror-house with the map editor wich also contained a room with an Enderman spawner.
I decided to stay in that house for a night, for tesing surposes and lulz.
After killing some Cave Spiders that came out of the chimney I went
upstairs and found the wall of the Enderman's room opened and
a half dozen of them wandered freely around in the house.
That was scary. Too scary. I'm glad Notch want's to remove that ability.

Not to be THAT GUY, but wouldn't 1.10 be the same as 1.1?

Just kidding. I wonder what's going to be included with the 1.9 update, and why we went from 1.8 to 1.9 so quickly. O.o

He said he's trying to push for the November release, so I guess he's rushing to get everything made.

And you'd think that 1.10 would be 2.0. :/

Did you see those Snowmen? They look epic. :D
