Since GT doesn't have a server up yet, here is the place to post servers you host or have found to be fun and reliable places to play.

Yeah, me too. Signed up as CC1119 wich is my Minecraft username, and I've allready started at my house

Even tho it's only a door and some "cubes" in to the mountain.

There is a real time server map in the link above. I personally want to build a sandcastle GT base. So I'll go scouting for a sand area.

According to the live map (which I use all the time as my minimap, btw), there's a large (and unused) sandy area not too far north of the main town. Or if we need a LARGER sand area, there's one to the southwest.

EDIT: Out of curiousity, how bad is the lag for everyone on that server? I can't hear skeletons fire arrows, nor can I kill creepers fast enough before they explode, mainly I just have to run and hope for the best (sometimes when running, it will explode and I will take damage even though it looks like I'm far enough away). Basically: am I going to have to rely on other people to defend me from hostile mobs? Or is it that way for everyone and we're all screwed when creepers show up?

I haven't had that problem. I would hope that an actual GT server wouldn't have that problem.

I've only had a small bit of lag, mostly "blocky" movement, but I can deal with mobs (run away) just fine.

Yup, that's on my end, too. I can run away, but if I confront the mobs, I'm screwed.

EDIT (again): Dear fellow GTers,
I have been playing around with the server files, and while I can't promise anything 24/7, I should be able to create our own temporary server run off of my computer(s). All I need to do is figure out what's going on with my ports (Dad's got the router locked up, but I can probably convince him to open up port 25565 for Minecraft), and it should be ready to go. I'll have to play around with all the plugins and stuff later, but if it's just going to be GTers, I don't think we'll have griefer problems.

Then, when we get the permanent GT server, I can just send the world files (and other server-related informations) over.

I mean, it's okay at first, it's just hard to do anything interesting with it. Sorry about making that sound kinda harsh. Bukkit's hard to set up, but it's totally worth it, especially since you can actually have the nether now.
