granf theft auto 2 is really bad, i would give it a 2.5, because the top down graphics suck and its really hard to control. Im not suprised its free.

Partly because we are used to the 3d GTA. But it was scored lower on PCGamer because of the control prob, if I remember correctly, and it didn't really bring anything new to the table.

Grand Theft Auto & Grand Theft Auto 2
When the original Grand Theft Auto first hit the PC in 1998, the game was already courting controversy: its brazenly amoral gameplay actually rewarded the player for wanton criminal conduct. But competing titles such as Carmageddon--a Death Race 2000-inspired car combat racer that awarded points for mowing down as many pedestrians as possible--were an easier lightning rod for critics. By comparison, GTA's cartoonish, top-down 2D point-of-view seemed like little more than an amped-up Hot Wheels. Grand Theft Auto 2 refined the gameplay of the original title the following year, but Rockstar wouldn't perfect the formula until taking the mayhem 3D in 2001 with Grand Theft Auto III. For gamers familiar with only such 21st-century GTA landscapes of Vice City and San Andreas, the company has subsequently released the original two games--reoptimized for current PCs and Windows versions--as free downloads.

Precise_Moon, the official rockstar games advertiser. :)

Played Armagetron. Addicting as hell. I give it 4 out of 5 because sometimes the AI does really stupid things.(saw one go around in circles and kill himself right at the beginning. Duh.) But the AI does learn your stratagy somewhat, so it still is a challenge. (Specially against 5 AIs). Graphics are not that bad considering a free game and the movie pak makes it look like TRON. Controls are easy to use and each level can be customized by size, length of wall, Blast radius, etc. Warning, get plenty of sleep, been up all night playing it, close to 38 hrs to be exact, and lost track of time. :P

been looking forever for this on the net. Saw it in PC gamer last year and thought the idea was cool. Warning, this 3d shooter is very large and I hope you have the harddrive space for it (96k :P) Seriously, it will need a fast system to run it.

Wouldn't "Duck Hunt" be a Flash-based game ? :|

Duck Hunt was from the NES packaged in the same cartriage as Super Mario Bros. You needed the gun to play Duck Hunt. (I still have that game, the gun, and the system)

However, I'm sure that a Flash version of that game exists on the Web... (In fact, I've already tried it, and I hope the NES adaptation is better than the online one... )
