Yeah.

Because everyone hates Chewbacca. What a horrible character. No way we could connect with wookie.

I believe the issue wasn't so much with a wookiee, as much as it was that wookiee's don't speak Basic.

I see, makes sense, because then he'd have to have subtitles.

And we know kids love to read nowadays. *sighs*

Well, maybe LA isn't completely insane and working on BF3 right now, and they plan to announce it at E3. If not, well, that leave's us with only one option...

As someone who is heading into development after college, I shudder to think how the industry will have changed when I graduate...

Hopefully the industry will stabilize. Most of what what I hear about are big studios getting closed and those industry vets starting up small indie studios. I feel bad for folks trying to get 'into the game' (pardon the pun) right now.

Aren't the heads of these destabilizing game companies usually business/marketing majors and similar? Maybe that's the problem...

The economy is the big issue. Worldwide people just don't buy as many frivolous things as they usually do, so companies go nuts with restructuring to try to fix things.

So yes, I'd say they're a definite part of it.
