Deleting Topics?
Did the staff get rid of old topics? Cuz I noticed my post count dropped 120 posts. (I'm not saying it matters I was just wondering)
Anyways just Curious

Topics in the Off-Topic board tend to get deleleted after a period of time.

Re: Deleting Topics?
Strange, I don't have that with the GT banner contest. It has been deleted and I still have the same amount of posts.
(I think)

What do you mean? I had 1300 or something and it went to 1180. I didn't mean my post count was 120 I guess I need to brush up on my English.RepSharpshooter wrote:Hmm, thats weird. It says something like 1182 posts under your name.

Re: Deleting Topics?
yeah, is there some way that when the administrators delete topics, it doesn't affect your posts? This is what mine is like in an image from deleting off topic topics.
EDIT: yeah 100, again...

Re: Deleting Topics?
Actually, there is a way. When we delete topics, all you have to do to be unaffected is to have not posted in the thread!DarkLuke14 wrote:yeah, is there some way that when the administrators delete topics, it doesn't affect your posts? But really, it's just postcount. It doesn't matter, since quality posts > quantity. (And besides, we usually only delete junk topics - so if you're making quality, helpful posts most of the time yours probably won't get deleted.)

Re: Deleting Topics?
Kind of running off the "quality > quantity" thing...if you don't have good quality posts, , case is, you probably won't be gaining any more posts. If ya know what I mean.

Re: Deleting Topics?
Lol, funny to hear that from the guy with over 5000 posts.
Not that I'm implying that you gained it through spam.

Re: Deleting Topics?
Yeah, but my posts are always for a reason. Plus, if we removed the ability to show the post count I wouldn't be sad one bit.

Re: Deleting Topics?
A lot of posts get boosted when there is an interesting topic in the off-topic section. Think is, Most of the stuff in the off-topic are not very productive as far as gaming goes. It's there to lay back and chat with the other members and get to know them. Bad thing abou it is it tends to get spam and forum games rolling and good topics seem to die quickly. So in order to prevent post-humping, I have the off-topic set for auto purge and topics over 45 days old are deleted. We also have the staff constantly watching it, locking threads that break the rules (yes, it is still subject to the rules) and within 24 hours, I come around and delete them. So if you post threads that break the rules or post often in the off-topic, your post count will fluctuate. No I will not change that policy (been doing it for two years and been even more dillegent lately).
If you want high post counts, contribute. If you want to get to know the staff and other members, post in the off topic and forget about post count. my suggestion would be to balance it. I'm with Tean, post counts don't matter. I too can care less if they disappear.

So you're saying you made that topic to boost your post count?

Re: Deleting Topics?
well, I also thought it was also cool that all gametoasters could celebrate and see the messages from the past and important events.

Short answer? No. It's not a very useful topic.DarkLuke14 wrote:would something like Gametoast's 3rd birthday get stickied?
