Made in Unreal Engine 3, UDK.
DirectX 9

First Gameplay video.

The current footage is at 9months development time by the 9 team members of Adhesive Games. The gameplay looks solid at this alpha stage and the art and animations are astounding. The environments are expansive and detail rich, and the overall direction is great.
I for one, am watching the rest of how this develops closely and it's looking to be a must buy on release for me.

Re: Hawken
Their team looks to be stocked with a lot more artists than most indie teams - the gameplay itself doesn't look all that novel (or more importantly, changed from stock UT gameplay), but it does look great.

Re: Hawken
I think it looks pretty good, I just hope they add a larger variety of weapons (laser beams!) and maybe some power ups.

Posting so I remember to follow this. This is awesome.
Bumping this for a new trailer from PAX 2011. It still looks awesome.

Re: Hawken
Bumping for relevance.
Coming 12/12/12 and IT'S FREE!!!!!
Of course, that's bittersweet news. On one hand, everyone can enjoy it. On the other, I'd rather pay full retail price than pay a nickel and be dimed to death...
Also, you can sign up for the closed beta and play early: LINK

PC Gamer wrote:“I’m throwing my wallet at the screen but nothing is happening!” is a common reaction to the trailers for stunning indie multiplayer mech-war project, Hawken. According to a blog post on the Hawken site, you won’t need your wallet at all. It’ll be released as a free to play game on December 12 this year.
That’s a long way off, but there will be a beta that’ll give us the opportunity to mech-up earlier. You can sign up for that on the Hawken closed beta page. It’ll just want your name and address for now.
The Hawken team haven’t laid out their plans for the sort of microtransactions and payments that we can expect, but on their FAQ they mention that “there will be in game purchases that will allow greater customization and more weapon variety.” Find out more on the official Hawken site.

Re: Hawken
I used to play tribes and loved it this looks 84% like it except I got stomach sickness from the "look up a game called time sliders" sliding motion. It's pretty but it's been done and with the barf feeling I have now I likely will not dl or return to this topic lol
