I agree, DICE being in development of a Star Wars game does feel like a battlefront to me....lets hope they don't catch BF3 contagious "mess every development company up" disease

Oh yeah forgot that battlefront 3 is cursedggctuk wrote:Every developer that has touched Battlefront 3 has turned to Diet Dr. Pepper. Free Radical went into administration. Rebellion churned out the least-liked game in the entire series, Elite Squadron (word is, they tried to create an actual SWBFIII but somehow failed to do so), and LucasArts got shut down. I do hope DICE has better luck, honest-to-God, I do, because it WOULD be awesome to see SWBFIII on Frostbite, so long as they got SP right (I'm thinking of BF3's somewhat underwhelming campaign - I know they can do better, just look at Bad Company 2).Cleb wrote:What do you mean? There's no way Dice will go under, Battlefield 4 will see to that... the only thing to stop Battlefront 3 now is if we get hit by a meteorite. Oops, now I've done it!

This so reminds me of the trainwreck Starsiege Tribes turned into.
Everyone was screaming and begging for a faithfull update to the engine but everyone that tried, tragicly destroyed it, piece by piece till you have the Tribes of today which is a generic free to play class based shooter.
Their community still exists... in the form of 20 guys playing the same 5 maps for decades.
Awesome squad based fps (Better than SWBF in every way except for the graphics), flushed by being sold and changing hands so many times.

That may not apply here. DICE is very capable of producing a good Battlefront game.

Looks like our star wars games will not have online passes...Thank goodness. Reading into this, doesn't directly co-insight with Ea having the rights to make star wars but this decision affects it in a way that will impact future titles inlcuding star wars games.

“Yes, we’re discontinuing Online Pass. None of our new EA titles will include that feature.”
I freaken hated online passes. Very smart move EA. If they can just get rid of those yucky microtransactions (Or reasonabley model it diffrently) then I will be a happy camper.

Wow that thing was pretty cool. Anyway just reading the first paragraph made online passes sound bad. I'm really glad they aren't being used

It was a pretty nastey operation. More of a restriction I would think than a feature, didn't do all that much for online(Except enable it), was bascially free money for them.Cleb wrote:Wow that thing was pretty cool. Something I wish they could also do is release BF1 and BF2 on PSN/Xbox Live Arcade Marketplace and also bring back online gameplay.
