Re: UnOfficial v1.3 Patch (r129 - Final Version)
I have a question regarding this mod.
I was wondering why, when i choose all maps and all modes why +123 CW and +123 GCW show up even though I don't have them installed.
I want to select all maps and all modes but I don't know what the +123 stuff is.
Is that a bug?

Re: UnOfficial v1.3 Patch (r129 - Final Version)
The 1.3 patch adds era names for a few mods including +123, but some mods override these added era names. And then some of them dont allow other mods to keep the changes and so +123 shows up instead of Dark Times for instance.

What stock files does this replace? (r129)
I would like to know in case any other mods have to overwrite certain .lvl's...

common.lvl, ingame.lvl, shell.lvl (all located in ..\GameData\DATA\_LVL_PC)
There are very few other mods that replace files in this folder, and most of those only replace mission.lvl. Offhand, I can't think of any mod (that isn't Zerted's work) that modifies these files by necessity.

Thanks!
I'm not sure if other mods change that stuff since I don't try too many SWBFII mods. There are so many and most aren't very good quality. I'll stick with the ones I know I like.
I'm used to SWBFI mods where they don't use the era system as regularly.
Another question, is this mod closed? I mean will there be another version? It seems complete to me but there are some things I would like to be customizable...

There may be another version. If you want to see the WIP of it, the link is below.

2013-01-31 Update By [RDH]Zerted: I'm fully busy with life and school (mostly school). While I still keep the mod tools installed just in case, I don't see myself ever finishing v1.4. A multimillion winning lotto ticket could change my mind. If you find one let me know. Thanks for all the fun and experience.
So v1.3 and v1.4 are officially dead?
Oh well. An exit to windows in multiplayer would have been a cool feature among other things.

Re: UnOfficial v1.3 Patch (r129 - Final Version)
Yes, they're dead. If I hadn't lost the v1.3 source code we'd be at v1.5 now. I put so much time and effort into making v1.3 extremely robust (it only had two known bugs, both fixed in r129), that it was to difficult/tedious to first re-implement everything for v1.4 exactly how I had it for v1.3. I'm not willing to release a v1.4 that isn't backwards compatible with v1.3.
If anyone still wants to PM me completely new feature requests (and I mean actual game features such as renaming a profile or removing award weapons in SP and not skin changes. I've never made a SWBF2 skin...) they can, but don't expect anything. I'm starting a Masters thesis next semester. I'm planning on writing a RTS AI for maybe 0AD or SpringRTS. I could keep developing on SWBF2 for a shrinking community or I could contribute to larger open source games. I don't have time for both.
If someone writes a tool to un-compile munged lua files (so we can recover v1.3's source code) I'll reconsider continuing work on v1.4.
Try one of the following functions in the code console:
ScriptCB_QuitToShell()
ScriptCB_QuitToWindows()
If one works, write a custom user script to add it as a custom Fake Console command. I made everything extendable for future-proofing (which is why it's so hard to recreate v1.3).
Yes, what kinetosimpetus said. v1.3 has a hard-coded list of supported eras. Each era had to have a name, +123 was a popular and large mod being created at the time so one of the eras was named for it. v1.3 r129 added support for changing an era's name, so in theory you could have infinite amounts eras. However, if two mods rename the same era to different names there's no way to know which name should be displayed when multiple maps are selected. In those cases, the default era names are displayed.
Or something like that... Earlier v1.3 releases were hard coded to always display the same eras. The code wasn't smart enough to determine which eras were included in the selected maps and just displayed the eras that were more popular when I was building it.
@anonimus66, It's very unlikely (though not impossible) that v1.3 broke LAN play. Does uninstalling v1.3 fix it? Did v1.3 install correctly? Did something else change that could have effected LAN play? Do LAN games crash or can you not select something? Can you be more specific about how LAN play is broken?

Lan works fine (for me) with every 1.3 patch I ever played including r129.
Proven with 4 people on several occasions/maps/eras/mods.

Re: UnOfficial v1.3 Patch (r129 - Final Version)
I have updated from 1.0 to 1.1 using the official update and then used this unoffical 1.3 update (full version)
However the game still reports the version as being 1.1. I ran the game after updating to 1.1 and saw it change from 1.0 to 1.1 but it didn't change after installing the 1.3 update, did I install correctly? I just put the update file inside my root game directory and let it run from there. Is there anyway to confirm that the update is installed correctly, assuming that it just doesn't alter the in game version?
Please reply.. thanks.

It doesn't change the game version.
To check if it's installed, there's several things, go to instant action, click on a stock map, a logo saying official swbf2 map should appear to the left, after starting a mission, hit Esc, new on the menu should be free cam and fake console.

Re: UnOfficial v1.3 Patch (r129 - Final Version)
I have this patch and it has corrupted two levels from the "Rise of the Empire" campaign. First, in "First line of Defense" (space Kashyyyk) I land with the LAAT/i but the objective isn't acomplished. Second, in "Recovering the Plans" (Tantive IV) there is no Princess Leia to kill!

Re: UnOfficial v1.3 Patch (r129 - Final Version)
To fix the Princess Leia problem you need to have the r129 version. There is a download link in the 1st post I believe.
Those other problems I don't know, sorry.

You have to wait around for a bit after landing the gunship on the Space Kashyyyk mission. It's not a bug.

at instalation uncheck use the v1.2 hud.

Or use the menu.bat file to get rid of the new HUD.

the newst installer doesn't have this bat anymore. than you need to reinstall the patch (uninstall is not necessary)
