Kill the Target Example

Yesterday I made a "kill the target" gamemode. Today I fixed a few things and it's pretty ok.

Basically, you try to kill the marked person, which in this case is Darth Maul. When you attack him or anyone else, the guards start shooting at you and some other guards escort Darth Maul to a "safe" place. If you kill Darth Maul, the guards will follow you and try to kill you (like before but more aggressively), and you will also have to escape to a safe region to win. The safe region will be marked on your minimap and map when you kill the target.

Why am I releasing this? It's FUN. More fun than I had originally thought it would be. So you can test it out here before it makes it into an actual map.

It appears as !test at the top of the list. Sorry for no screenshots, but I might have those up later today. I don't have the time right now and I would post a video but YouTube currently has problems.

Okay that is really fun. I noticed the enemy did not seem to attack my autoturret or teammate clone.

Yeah the other clone is kinda a bug. There are supposed to be a bunch of "civilians" running around but I got lazy and didn't fix it. This release is pretty much just a proof of concept.

Now THIS sort of idea is definitely up my alley! This brings back a, "Revolutionary War" feel to the map because Officers from the British Army were targeted by American Sharpshooters to cause confusion among the ranks! In this case the twist is the "soldiers" are trying to kill you even after the target "officer" is dead. Can not wait to see how this will turn out in the FINAL release!

Hey, thanks! In the final release, this will be on a custom map built for this sort of thing. That means the AI will be smarter and cooler things will happen. I'm thinking that if the target is in danger a door could open to a room and then the target a guard or two could run there. Once they get inside, the door would close and they stay there. The assassin would have to figure out how to get in. The safe place could also be slightly random to add more variation. I'm thinking that there could also be snipers on the rooftops that start shooting at the assassin once he makes a move. Same with some extra guards. They could all come out of buildings nearby and try to stop the assassin. Or there could be tank escorts that come as well. Or I could even have a simple timer counting up and then have announcements like "The mayor will be giving a speech in the town hall at 2:30." And then when the timer hits 2:30, the mayor and his guards will be there and you can kill him. This seems like a really good idea. Because after trying to win a bunch of times as the clone trooper with only my rifle is a bit difficult in open areas. Maybe I could make it so you can request a meeting with him and he comes to his office to see you at a certain time. ANYWAY, ON WITH THE REST OF THE STUFF

There are a lot of possibilities for this. I've just written the core and it's pretty easy to set up on any map.

@MileHighGuy: They don't attack the clone because he isn't on your team. I don't know why they don't attack your autoturret though. And did you like the yellow HP bar for the target? I thought that was fun.

EDIT2: The guards do attack the autoturret and the autoturret attacks the guards. I don't see a problem.
