Stepping through object

Post by giftheck »

I'm having an issue with a new object I'm putting into my modified Cloud City map.

However, I'm having this problem with it:

Units will 'sink' in the middle ring. The issue only occurs in this middle ring, the collision for the rest of the object is fine. I haven't defined a separate collision object inside the MSH in this instance (I had previously but I still encountered this issue) as the object isn't particularly high-poly.

Not sure if this is a conflict between the object collision and the terrain, or whether there's an issue with the collision generated by the object.

Mind posting an image from XSI of the collision objects?

As it's a lower poly object, I'm relying on the munger to create the collision for me at present. The previous version was a simple duplicate.

Then that'd be why. You should never ever rely on the munger to create good collision. If your mesh needs collision, it should always be created manually.

Fair enough. Having said that I had collision objects before and the same issue occurred. The collision was a copy of the original mesh sans texture. Any advice?
