4/2/06 Update

Islands .9
Added Fog
Moved Magnaguard hero back to cis in 1flag mode.
Changed Wookie Jedi back to Vader moves but with a normal Run.
Added Hunt Mode CW. Wooike v Magna (like the Hunt in the new Kashyyyk)
Added HUNT Mode GCW as sniper v sniper
Shadow Error Fixed

Update - 3/27 Filefront remains down

The good stuff:
Port of original swbf1 map
Hero Mode works
Conquest works
1flag works
New heros work

Known Issues:
Vehicles Work but are too fast and have no sound
New Villian MAY be too strong
New Hero MAY be too weak
I am not in love with the 1flag capture zones.

Take a look at the screen shots or play the heros assult mode. Follow the link to the screen shots.

It is a wookiee jedi with a 1.5 time normal lenght saber and force choke.
THe other is a magnaguard with a double saber and a droidika sheild.

Well I've just downloaded it and played one round each of conquest and hero assault so far, but thought I'd give feedback on the heroes. I would probably agree that the Wookiee Jedi is too weak (looks cool though). He's slow, which is fair enough because he's a Wookiee, but I don't know- can't quite put my finger on the problem. If you could somehow give him the Mace Windu ground-slam attack I think it would be a nice touch.

The magnaguard on the other hand is an unholy god of war! Played one round of hero assault with him just to try him out- 86 kills and no deaths (elite AI as well just to make clear). I think the problem is a matter of balancing speed with the amount of punishment he can take; the shield's pretty strong and if it looks like it's about to go, you can just run away at jedi speed and recharge the shield for another go. Basically, I'd suggest downgrading one or the other.

Other than that I didn't find any new problems with the map- good job

EDIT: Played it a bit more now, one minor problem that needs fixing in CTF for CW is that the heroes are on the wrong teams! Also, would agree that the capture zones could do with a tweak- seems to leave a fair chunk of the map unused, and does seem that one side (CIS/whichever GCW side has the same position- can't remember) has noticeably less distance to carry the flag in order to score

Sounds good, but can you post an alternate link on savefile or yousendit for the beta, because filefront is blocked on my PC (common knowledge now).

Haha, he's so powerfull I beat assault without dying once..

Just...no. :P

I dunno, lol, maybe croak the sheild, increase wook's speed?

I suggest with the magnaguard you could make it so the shield disables itself if you attack.

I too like the heroes. I remember this map being much tougher. Probably easier because of the heroes. Heres some feedback:
- the ground is pretty much black (needs to be lighter)
- GCW crashes in singleplayer
- both eras crash in multiplayer

yeah, gcw also crashes for me in sp, and the ground is very dark (seems to be a problem common to many conversions). the magnaguard hero's awesome, but definitely overpowered. you should at least make it so he cant activate the shield while he's sprinting, and preferably make it so it deactivates whenever he attacks, as theguarder said. also, the wookiee hero seems a tad too weak, give him some more health ;)

Right after the load screen, before the spawn screen comes up, same as every other map that crashes. Makes me think that there's a common thing that's happening..

ok got it fixed. I am going to power up the wookie and release again as beta2. The ground being black only occurs on lighting set to high...

Anyone know how to fix this? I gues I can lighten the whole map but this seems like a waste. Anyone have a good fix for the near black terrain?

1) A wookie Jedi is cool, but Vader's "run" doesn't fit. I'd say a Wookie Cheiftan would be much cooler.

2) To fix the terrain lighting, use this trick:

-Load the map in ZeroEdit and select your light
-Write down the old values in Top/Bottom Ambient Color
-Change those all to 255
-Click on Image in upper right
-Hit Burn Terrain
-Go back to your light and change the Top/Bottom Ambient Colors back to the original values

I always test in cw, and I made a last minute change that I thought had no effect on gcw, but I failed to test it. I forgot that one of the heros has dependencies based on the cw sides. I only have the custom heros in cw as of right now, I am going to change the terrain and then upload a more stable verison.

Not sure why multi crashed in all eras, I changed the single player stuff and my multi would load.

Interesting......

I will post a new link shortly. I will also edit the wookie and make him stronger.

Ground fixed for those of you with nice graphics cards, wookie speed increased, changed to mace's moves, increase ground slam damage to 500 from 400. Fixed gcw bug.

More feedback please
