So, in either case, I have to do something extra to see the whole. It's just, the way it was done, I'm FORCED to wait a couple of seconds while the 3.5 MB picture loaded, then take even more time to zoom out or copy+paste the URL before even seeing what the picture is, rather than seeing it in it's entirety instantaneously and deciding whether or not I want to see it huge.

Right-clicking the picture and clicking "Open this image in new tab" takes three mouse clicks (the last one being switching to the image's new tab), and either way, it would take about the same amount of time to download the image as it would take to load in the web page.

Point being if someone were to have a less powerful internet than myself (or if something's on the fritz, causing download speeds to be slow), if we assume a crap 150kb/s download rate, that's 1 second load time for a small image with an OPTIONAL longer wait to see the big picture.
COMPARED TO:
A required wait of around thirty seconds for the larger image to load, then time to copy+paste a link where you have to wait thirty more seconds for the image to load AGAIN.

1 second or 1 minute? I think the answer's clear, especially with the "tl;dr" mindset of most internet users.

On a related note:
We're also ignoring the fact that you can only zoom out so far, and even zooming out all the way, you still can't see the picture in it's entirety

But, I believe this tangent has gone on long enough. My original point was and will always be that everyone should try to make images more forum-friendly, because not everyone has godlike screen resolution or an amazing internet connection. I will discuss this no further.

And this has to be one of the coolest optical illusions I have ever seen. It's best to let the effect build up, till the picture never looks black and white, but don't move your eyes or the effect will be destroyed instantly.

Seen all the shows I think. Should look to buy a dvd set collection. Will record onto my dvd player when series comes to tv. I love the star trek voyager crew and ships.
