Economic system
The DMI needs some sort of economic system to keep the "buying things" idea afloat.
But I don't just mean you get money that comes out of nowhere for random tasks. There needs to be things such as inflation, deflation, recession, and other economic nuances.
So, what system should we use to uphold any sort of currency that might be used for the DMI?
(I know someone already posted a thread about something like this, but it was a bit vague.)

I'm pretty sure the focus right now is on filling up the empty lots and testing stability. Money and other features come later.

Whatever happens, it's not going to be by popular choice. It's going to be whatever's most feasible and works the best with whatever Rep sets up as incentives. The layman's opinion isn't really worth a whole lot.

Re: Economic system
I'd go for any system that the high guy comes up with. (I'm talking about rep, of course)
An economic system (in a game, or in real life) isn't usually something that is decided using democracy. It generally just sort off happens (real life) or is designed by people who know the stuff they're doing (games).
An economic system, how efficient/giving/logical it is, will always not be like by someone. The best thing that can be done, is that, in this case, it's decided by the guy who runs the system (repsharpshooter). If he'd like to know other peoples opinion about this, he will open up a topic and he will decide what system it's going to be in the end. I hope I'm not coming over too serious, or harsh, but this is just pretty much how it works.

Re: Economic system
I think Gametoast staff should have an "incinerate" power to set people on fire at our will. That would be awesome.
Truthfully though what Mav and Xavious said is right -- It's up to Rep, and it's not the focus at the moment, in fact we're talking probably a year+ down the road. (just guessing - I dunno how fast Rep works)

Re: Economic system
So go ahead and write the scripts for it. Release it as a demo map and we'll see how well it works.Darth_Squoobus wrote:...There needs to be things such as inflation, deflation, recession, and other economic nuances...

Yeah, I have to agree that the priority for Rep right now is to fill up the city. Releasing a map for that alone would be a big accomplishment.

Yeah we need a city before we can have an economy. And not that I'm lazy, I just have a ton of real-world commitments so I am not getting around to modding as much as I did back in the day.

Can we just lock this thread already, it's been dead to me for a long time.
